Christmas gifts we got at Coryell County Squares Christmas Party |
We had a busy morning running around town getting stuff for the Christmas dances we're going to attend the next few days. Tonight is Coryell County Squares Christmas Dance and after the dance they're having a Christmas party. They asked you to bring a $5.00 gift to exchange with someone. Friday night is Double C's can drive where you donate five food items for the entrance fee. Saturday night the Denim and Lace club is having their Christmas Dance, you're requested to bring an unwrapped toy for a boy or girl as your entrance fee. While picking up the square dancing stuff we also did our weekly shopping and picked up a few Christmas gifts. We drove the car to town and Flo came along with us. When we were shopping at Walmart we saw our local TV weather man Andy ringing a bell for the Salvation Army. We stopped and talked with him and donated some money. I usually bring my camera everywhere I go but I didn't bring it today so I missed my opportunity to get my picture taken with a celebrity.
After lunch I wrapped the gifts and baked some cupcakes to take to the dance. I was busy all afternoon getting stuff ready to take to the dances and doing laundry.

In the evening we met up with Louis and Belinda to go to The Coryell County Squares Christmas Dance. The club usually has a half hour workshop but since they were having a party after the dance they decided to start the dance early. There were enough people for two squares they were shy a man to have a third square. In between the square dancing tips Ed played a couple of songs. Half way through the dance people did some announcements, they drew a number for a winner of a Honey Pot and they gave out for door prizes. Larry won a little angel as a door prize. The after party was a lot of fun. Barbara drew names and then you went and got a wrapped gift from the pile of gifts. Once you got the gifts you went back to your chair and put the gift on your lap. After everyone got a gift Babara read a little story and everytime she said right you passed your gift to the right and when she said left you passed your gift to the left. By the time she finished reading the story you didn't have the gift you started with. Everyone opened their gift. Larry got a jar of black bean salsa and I got a big coffee cup full of chocolate candy bars and a little teddy bear. It was fun.
