| Fishing in Belton |
Every year The Belton Parks and Recreation Department and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) get together and have a day of fishing without a license for everyone. This year they're going to have two events. Today was the first and the second will be December 30. TPWD releases 1,000 rainbow trout up stream on Nolan Creek behind The Gin at Nolan Creek. Participates in the fishing are required to bring their own fishing poles and tackle but some bait will be provided. The event took place from 2:00 to 4:00 and we went to downtown Belton to watch. We left Flo in the car while we walked around and watched people fish. There were a lot of people fishing. We weren't there five minutes when we saw a lady catch a fish. Lots of families were there and I was surprised by the number of women who were there with their daughters, my guess is that the fathers were working so the mothers came alone with their girls, very cool. Everyone looked like they were having a lot of fun. We had fun just watching them.

In the evening Larry and I went to Harker Heights for the Killeen Kickers Christmas Dance. The Kickers invited Tim Tyl to call and Marilyn and Jerral Waguespack to cue the dance.There were seven to eight mainstream squares and five plus squares. There were a lot of round dancers. Larry and I dressed up like Santa and Mrs. Claus. Larry gave out bells and a bag of candy. This was a big hit. Everyone seemed to have had a great time. Larry and I definitely had a great time. Tim is an outstanding caller.
