Joshua Tree National Park Welcome sign
We spent a night in Joshua Tree National Park at the Cottonwood Campground, it is the first campground on the eastside. While there I worked out for an hour. walked Flo around the campground and we drove about 58 miles through the park. Driving through we saw how the park transformed from the Colorado Desert to the Mojave Desert. The Colorado Desert section scenery was spidery ocotillo, green-barked palo verde trees, and jumping cholla cactus. The Mojave Desert section had boulder formations, pinyon pines, junipers, oaks, Mojave yuccas, Mojave prickly pear cacti and Joshua trees. The interesting thing about the Joshua trees was that they only grow about an inch a year and they can grow up to 40 feet tall. The drive was beautiful.
