Larry’s hurt finger
About a week ago Larry hurt his finger, he didn’t know how but it swelled up and started to hurt, he figured it would get better. He nursed it by soaking it in cold water and Peroxide and rubbed Lanacane on it. Larry doesn’t like taking any medication but the pain was so bad he broke down and took Tylenol. After doing this for a few days he said the finger wasn’t getting better and he needed to see a doctor. So down the mountain we went to a clinic in Shaw Valley but it was closed, what should we do now? A lady showed up and told us the clinic had a sister site in Reedley so off to Reedley we went. The name of the clinic was San Joaquin Prime Care, it’s a walk-in clinic. We spent the rest of the morning at the clinic. The doctor was great, he numbed the finger, then he cut it open right under the fingernail and drained the infection out. A nurse wrapped it up and the doctor told Larry he wanted to do a follow up on Friday. The doctor gave Larry a prescription for antibiotics and told him to take Tylenol for the pain. There was a Walgreen’s right next to the clinic so we got the prescription filled. Once Larry’s finger was taken care of we went back up the mountain, this time we went on the other side of the mountain to Sequoia National Park.
Camping at Lodge Pole Campground
It took us two hours to get to Lodge Pole Campground but the scenery was very picturesque. We didn’t have any problem finding a site even though only one loop was opened. It was a beautiful campground with a lot of big pine trees and running water bathrooms. Once we parked the Minnie we walked to pay for the night. Our walk was a little slow because we took Flo with us but it was very nice. We walked over a bridge that went over a river and along the road to the pay station. After paying we went to the store. On the way back to our site we saw a guy playing a guitar and singing. We had a very long day but at the end it was super.
