Saturday 12-7 Visiting Louise

We had a great day

We had a great day. What should we do today? Why don't we go to Round Rock and visit Louise. While there Larry played with her routers. Both of them are located on her desk, right next to each other. One is the modem/wireless router provided by AT&T for her internet and the other one we gave her to support some of her devices. He moved one of them on the other side of the desk to see if it would help with a buffering issue. We will have to wait to see if it improves or not.

A few weeks ago Louise bought herself a Garmin Vivofit fitness tracker. I have a similar one but mine is a few years older. She was asking some questions about it and while she and Larry were playing with the tracking software on the phone he was able to set the two of us up in a challenge. Now both of us can track the amount of activity the other is doing, the idea being that each of us will challenge the other. We do the same thing with the Solitaire we play, we play every day and we compare how we did.

While we were there I played with Alice and worked on a jigsaw puzzle. We had a nice visit with Louise and Alice.

When we got home I worked on my jigsaw puzzle. I did the Solitaire World Tour, which was a 30 Solitaire puzzles.

In the evening we started watching the third season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. We watched four episodes of it. Then we watched an episode of Boston Legal. When Larry went to bed I watched a few episodes of Bones.

We had a very relaxing day.

Friday 12-6 Kickers Holiday Dance

Windy day

It was a windy all day but the temperature was in the low 70s. We spent the day hanging around the house. I worked on my annual book and a jigsaw puzzle.

Technology is always changing and Larry likes to keep up with it. Today he played around with some programs for our phone and our cameras.

In the evening we went to Killeen to dance with the Killeen Kickers. Every year for their Holiday Dance they invite Tim Tyl to come and call. We had four squares and a few more people sitting out. In between the square dancing tips Lynn did a line dance. I danced all the tips and line dances except one. Tim is always full of energy and keeps people laughing through out the dance. The Killeen Kickers club members brought in a lot of food for the dancers to snack on. We had an outstanding evening of dancing with friends and to Tim Tyl.

Thursday 12-5 Weekly A2 Dance

Having fun with friends

We had a great day. The sun was shining and we had wind but it got up to 70 degrees.

We spent most of the day hanging around the house. I worked on my annual book and a little bit on my jigsaw puzzle. Larry did some reading.

We took the Minnie back to the storage center because we won't need it for a couple of weeks. On the way home we stopped by the UPS Store and picked up our mail. Then we filled the car up with fuel at Murphy Gas. When we got home we put our Christmas Snowman in the frontyard.

Our Christmas Snowman

In the evening we went to Sun City to dance A2 and C1 with the Sundancers. We danced C1 from 5:00 to 6:30 and we had a square. The tapes we danced to were challenging and we had to stop once in awhile to walk through some moves. When it was time for the A2 dancing we had three squares plus a few people sitting out. Some of the dancers were brand new dancers, they had just graduated from class. At 8:00 we did another half hour of C1. We had one square and an extra couple. Barb and Gord were on their way down to the Rio Grande Valley. We have danced with them multiple times in the Valley and in the Ohio area. They are very good dancers. We had a great time dancing with friends.

When we got home we watched an episode of Boston Legal. When Larry went to bed I started watching the second season of Bones. I watched four episodes of Bones. We had a great day.

Wednesday 12-4 Backyard Visitors

Have fun doing what ever you enjoy

We had a great day.

This morning we saw a few deer hanging around the backyard. Two of them were laying down on the grass. The other one was a little bigger and she was grazing. After a few minutes she decided to lay down with the other two. While they were laying in the backyard a few black birds flew down and joined them. The deer ignored the birds. One of the younger deer got up and the birds hopped away. We watched the deer and birds relaxing with each other. While the deer and birds were relaxing, a few squirrels were playing in the trees. We always like to watch wildlife hanging out with each other.

We went to town to pay for the RV tags. The tags aren't due until February but we are going to be out of town. We hadn't received the renewal yet but there was no problem in renewing the tags.

After lunch Larry did a little work on our security cameras. While he was doing this I worked on a jigsaw puzzle and on my annual book.

In the evening we watched Spiderman Far From Home again. When we watch super hero movies we usually watch them a second time because we always miss something. Afterwards we watched a couple of episodes of Boston Legal. I finished watching the first season of Bones. We had a relaxing evening.

Tuesday 12-3 Six Month Dental Cleaning

Busy morning

Wow, what a busy morning!!! Larry woke me up at 7:15 so I would have enough time to get ready and have breakfast before we went to town.

Last week I mentioned that we were going to tint the Minnie's two windows in the living area to give us privacy. Larry had made an appointment to get it done this morning. We arrived at Classic Tint when it opened at 8:00. When the owner showed up he showed us the tint, it is the silver shiny tint. The tint will definitely give us privacy, people can't see in but we can see out.

After dropping the Minnie off at Classic Tint, we went to downtown Temple to do our six month dental cleaning. The appointment was at 8:45 we got there with ten minutes to spare. I was due to get my teeth x-rayed. While looking at the x-ray the dentist found that a right bottom tooth at the gum line was starting to breakdown a little. The dentist wanted to do a little work at that area. Larry also needs to have a tooth worked on. We didn't make any appointments because they didn't have anything available in December, so we will wait until we get back from the Rio Grande Valley.

Larry received a phone call around 11:30 that said the Minnie was finished. We went back to town after lunch to pick it up. Before paying Larry walked around and checked the work out. He pointed out a couple of areas that were not quite right so the installer cleaned them up and it looks great.

On the way home from picking up the Minnie, Larry stopped at Valvoline Instant Oil Change to get it inspected for its tags.

I spent the afternoon playing my Solitaire: Hard Road Event, which had 16 hard level Solitaire games to do. While I was doing this Larry installed a small shelf in the Minnie's bathroom. He had installed one early this year that we really liked, it keeps stuff off the counter. He also finished resealing the seams of the Minnie, he had the back right side left to do.

In the evening we relaxed in front of the television. Google was having a special on renting a movie for $1.49 so Larry rented Spiderman Far From Home. I like the superhero movies so I enjoyed watching this one. Then we watched an episode of Boston Legal. When Larry went to bed I watched four episodes of Bones.

Monday 12-2 Doing This and That

Doing this and that

What should we do today? We decided to do a few errands in town. Friday when we drove to Ardmore it was foggy and misting all the way there so the car got filthy. This morning we took the car through the car wash. After wiping the car down we went to the UPS Store. We had received an e-mail notifying us that we had a package waiting. The package was from Larry's mother, Shirley. It was a Christmas gift for Larry and peanut butter Rice Krispy bars and chocolate coconut bars. Then we went to Dollar Tree to pick up our rice rolls we ordered a few weeks ago. The final stop was HEB to do our weekly grocery shopping. We also did a little Christmas shopping.

While we were eating lunch we received a couple of notifications that we had a couple more packages waiting for us at the UPS Store. In the afternoon we went to the post office to mail Christmas packages out. Then we went back to the UPS Store to pick up our packages. We had a second package from Shirley, more Christmas gifts and more goodies (peanut brittle and white chocolate trash).

We snacked on Shirley's Christmas snacks all day. They were delicious.

In the evening we watched a movie from Amazon called Seven Days in Utopia. It was movie about a golfer who lost his game and found it by spending a week in Utopia, Texas. It was a cute movie starring Robert Duvall, Lucas Black, Melissa Leo and Klaus Badelt. Then we watched a couple of episodes of Boston Legal. I watched three episodes of Bones.

Sunday 12-1 Back Home

Fun times

It was a beautiful day with wind that made it cool. When we go up It was in the 30's.

We had a spectacular weekend in Ardmore, Oklahoma dancing with friends to Charlie Robertson and Jet Roberts. There was an A2 dance this morning at 10:00 but we decided to skip it, we wanted to get an early start going home. It was the end of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and we knew the later we started home the worse the traffic would be. The drive home was on I35 through Fort Worth and Waco. I35 is under construction in Waco and goes down to two lanes. Some folks said it took them an hour to get through it on Friday. We left Ardmore at 6:45 and did not encounter any slow downs, we got home at 10:45.

We spent the afternoon relaxing. Larry had ordered a new Amazon Echo Show on Black Friday and it arrived yesterday so he set it up. Afterward he read Saturday and Sunday's newspapers. I did my World Tour Event, which was 30 Solitaire games. We watched a couple of GizWiz shows and caught up with our YouTube videos.

Last week we bought a spiral ham. This afternoon I used the bone to make ham hock and beans.

Ham Hock and Beans

In the evening we watched a movie off of Amazon called Brittany Runs A Marathon. It was a comedy drama about a young woman that changes her life and trains to run the New York City Marathon. It starred Jillian Bell. Then we watched three episodes of Boston Legal. When Larry went to bed I watched three episodes of Bones. We had a relaxing day.

Saturday 11-30 Day of Dancing

A gorgeous sunny day

The drizzle was gone and the sun came out. There was a strong wind out of the west, which made it cool.

Lake Murray State Park

We spent the day square dancing with friends to Charlie Robertson and Jet Roberts. The morning session was an A2 workshop that started at 10:00 followed by a C1 workshop at 11:30. Charlie called the morning session. We were one couple shy of eight squares. Some of the concepts that Charlie went through in the A2 workshop we have done but it still was challenging. For the C1 half hour, Charlie went over Replace and Interrupt Concepts and Phantoms in an Hourglass formation. The hourglass concept was very hard to see where to go because to me I couldn't see the actual hourglass I was working with. Charlie made the workshops very interesting and challenging.

In the afternoon Jet Roberts did the A2 workshop.Jet worked on Motivate in different positions, Chain Reaction and Trade Circulates. The positions weren't too bad considering Larry and I have done them from both right and left handed waves many times before. We had seven squares plus three couples sitting out. We had a great time.

We returned to Lake Murray Lodge at 7:00 to do a half hour of C1 dancing. We had three squares. Jet called this session. We danced A2 from 7:30 to 9:40, it was suppose to go until 10:00 but everyone was tired because we had already danced two sessions for four and a half hours. Charlie and Jet did a super job of calling the dance. We had a super day of dancing with friends and to Charlie and Jet.
