Monday 1-22-24 Dancing with Di and Terry, Games, Jukebox & More

 

Rainy Day

We had an overcast day by mid-afternoon the rain came in. It started with the temperature at 40 degrees and got to 47 degrees. We hung around the house doing this and that.

We started the day out by attending Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly C1 at 9:00 for an hour and fifteen minutes. Di called five tips to 17 participants. Larry danced with me. It's so much easier when you have a partner, that way you only have to keep track of 6 phantoms instead of 7. We help each other to get in the right place. We had a super time dancing to Di and Terry and with friends.

I spent about three hours working on the Bambi diamond painting to finish it. It came out beautiful with a lot of color.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: World Tour Mini of 10 games. It took me 1 hour, 4 minutes and 49 seconds, which put me in 19th place in my group. I played Angry Birds.

Yesterday started a new weekly challenge, which is Fun House. We have Fun House but the challenge version is an older one so Larry downloaded it last night. Today he installed it on the pinball machine. It took him a bit because it didn't work correctly, he got it fixed. I played the challenge and got 2,251,760. Then I played the two Godzilla games. I entered my initials as a high score on the Marty version, which is the second one.

After installing Fun House Larry moved onto working on the jukebox. Today he used the Cameo to cut vinyl to put on the front glass. Everything is now done with the exception of the physical box, it needs to be sanded and painted. He'll have to wait until the weather clears up.

I worked out with the Wii Fit for a half hour and Gold's Gym for a half hour.

In the evening we finished watching the Black Snow series. It was very good. Then I watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 1st place in my group.

 

Sunday 1-21-24 Laid Back Day & Having Fun

 

Laid back day

The day started out at 35 degrees and got up to 42 degrees. It was a cold day but no wind. We hung around the house.

I spent most of the day working on my Bambi diamond painting project. I'm almost finished I may have about an hour to go to finish. I just need to do Bambi's face and surrounding dark area.

I worked out for a half hour on the Wii Fit and with Just Dance for a half hour (20 minutes on 2018 and 10 minutes on 2019). Yesterday when I did my body check on the Wii Fit I had gained 2 pounds but today it said I had lost 1.5 pounds. This means I need to lose 1.5 pounds to get to my goal in a week. My goal is to lose 1 pound in two weeks. I've lost 10 pounds in four weeks. I still have a ways to go.

Larry continued working on the jukebox. Today he used the Cameo to make stickers for the side glass panels. The other day he used it to make the button labels. Before he could cut out the glass panels he had to design them to look like the original ones. Then he printed the design out on the printer to see how they looked. Once he got the color correct the panels were ready to be cut. Before cutting them he had to test out the cut to make sure it's deep enough. When this was done he scrapped the old paint off the panels and cleaned them. Finally he put the stickers on the panels. They came out super.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Klondike Adventure of 20 games. It took me 1 hour, 8 minutes and 11 seconds, which put me in 12th place in my group. Then I moved onto playing Angry Birds.

I didn't play any pinball instead I continued working on Bambi.

In the evening we started to watch another 2023 detective series about a cold case called Black Snow. It was about a girl being murdered 25 years before. I like it so far. Then I watched Thor: The Dark World and Men in Black 2. I ended up doing 17,500 steps, which put me in 1st place in my group for the week with a total of 124,098 steps.

  

 

 

Saturday 1-20-24 Cold Windy Day, Games, Diamond Painting & More

 

Hold on tight

We woke up with the temperature of 21 degrees and a wind out of the north. It got to 39 degrees.

We started the day out doing some housekeeping. I cleaned the bathrooms, dusted and vacuumed the house. I also did laundry. Larry cleaned the drains in the kitchen and bathroom with vinegar and baking soda.

The construction crew from next store has been using our water and power. Lately in the morning when it's below freezing our faucet in the back of the house has frozen up. So they had to use the faucet on the south side of the house. We have no idea if this faucet has always frozen but now that we know Larry is concerned that one of these days the pipe will break. He did some research on preventing this, he found a outdoor faucet device called Freeze Miser that is suppose to prevent this. Before he bought one he watched a YouTube video on the product. It appears to work and the reasoning behind it makes sense. He found out that Home Depot had them so off to the Home Depot we went. We ended up getting two.

He didn't install the faucet connector because the crew was using the faucet. Maybe tomorrow when it warms up a bit he will install it.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. Today's event was Event: Easy Street Mini of 15 games. It took me 30 minutes and 33 seconds, which put me in 15th place in my group. Then I moved onto playing Angry Birds.

Afterwards I worked out with the Wii Fit for a half hour and Gold's Gym for a half hour.

I played a little pinball. I ended up playing four games. They were Guardians of the Galaxy, Elvira House of Horrors, Scared Stiff and Last Action Hero. I didn't get on the board with a high score but had fun.

I spent the rest of the day working on my diamond painting project Bambi. Larry spent the day working on his jukebox. He moved a bunch of files onto the new machine so it has all the same skins and music. He also used his Silhouette to make labels for the buttons.

In the evening we watched YouTube videos. Then we finished watching Steelhouse Murders on Acorn. I enjoyed watching this series. Afterwards I watched Iron Man 3 and Men in Black. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 1st place in my group.

   

Friday 1-19-24 Dancing, Diamond Painting, Games & Jukebox

 

Cold windy day

We had a cold day. It started at 30 degrees and got to 35 degrees. We had a strong wind out of the north which made it even colder. We are having weird weather, yesterday it got up to 70 degrees and today it only got up to 35 degrees. Tomorrow it's suppose to be 22 degrees in the morning and the high is suppose to be 40.

We started the day out by going to town. First we stopped at the UPS Store to pick up the mail. Then we went to Walmart to pick up a few items.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Free Cell Mini of 5 games. It took me 18 minutes and 29 seconds, which put me in 32nd place in my group. Then I moved onto playing Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds and Friends.

I only played two pinball games. I played the weekly challenge of Guardians of the Galaxy and Aerosmith. I hadn't played Aerosmith in a long time and had fun playing it.

I worked out on the Wii Fit for a half hour and Just Dance for a half hour using Just Dance 2014 for 20 minutes and Just Dance 2016 for 10 minutes.

Larry spent the day working on his jukebox. He built brackets from aluminum to attach the monitor, it was a bit tricky getting the monitor mounted in just the correct position, it had to extend out to the glass and then be centered both horizontally and vertically. Once that was done he started on the speakers. He had torn an old Echo Show apart and removed the speakers. They sounded great in the Echo Show but not so great just sitting on the bench. He figured he would have to build a box to enclose the speakers so they would sound better. Today he hooked up the 60 year old speakers that came in the jukebox and they sounded excellent. He decided to install them back into the jukebox. The Echo Show speakers really add to the sound playing along side the original speakers. He might try to include them, with the limited room and difficult mounting options it would be a challenge.

For dinner I made chicken in the air fryer. It came out delicious.

In the evening I attended Ett McAtee's Weekly A2 dance at 6:30 for an hour. She called four tips to 14 participants. She focused on just dancing the moves with very little cueing. I had a great time dancing to Ett and with friends. 

After the dance we started to watch a detective series on Acorn called Steelhouse Murders. We watched the first two episodes of the first season. Then I watched The Avengers out of our movie collection. I watched the eighth episode of Reacher on Amazon. I ended up doing 17,500 steps, which put me in 1st place in my group.   

Thursday 1-18-24 No Dancing, Games, Diamond Painting & Junkbox

 

 

Awesome Day

We had a gorgeous day with sunshine. It started with a the low of 38 degrees and the high of 73 degrees. 

We didn't have any dancing today so we spent the day just having fun.

Larry spent the day working on the jukebox. He completed the wiring and plugged it in, everything worked but a couple of switches had to be re-plugged. He still has a ways to go. He is now working on getting the monitor mounted and then it will be speaker boxes. After all that is complete he will start on the cabinet itself.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Two Game Tango of 20 games (10 Klondike and 10 Spiders). It took me 2 hours, 59 minutes and 53 seconds, which put me in 23rd place in my group. Then I moved onto playing Angry Birds.

I worked out with the Wii Fit for a half hour and Gold's Gym for a half hour.

After working out I played four pinball games. They were Congo, Creature From the Black Lagoon, Fun House and Guardians of the Galaxy. I didn't get a new high score in Guardians of the Galaxy but had fun. So far I'm in 28th place out of 48 participants. When I played Fun House I got the 4th high score. I had fun playing pinball.

I finished the Disney jigsaw puzzles yesterday so today I started a diamond painting project. The project is Bambi.

In the evening we watched Flash, a 2023 super hero film. It wasn't that good. I thought it was a little corny. Afterwards I watched Thor from our movies. I ended up doing 17,500 steps, which put me in 1st place in my group.

 

Wednesday 1-17-24 Dance Day & Having Fun

 

Beautiful Day

We had a beautiful day with a lot of sunshine. It started in the teens but ended up getting to 44 degrees. It had been below freezing for 3 days, nice to finally see it warming up a bit.

I attended three virtual dances. First was Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly Plus at 10:00 for an hour to 11 participants. Di and Terry took turns calling five tips. Today Di worked on Spin Chain the Gears, Spin Chain the Gears and Exchange the Gears and Double Exchange. These moves are hard when working with a full square of eight dancers. I danced by myself so I was grateful that Di cued the moves and I was successful in completing the moves. I had a great time dancing to Di and Terry and with friends.

Second was Ett McAtee's Weekly C1 at 1:00 for an hour to 18 participants. Ett called four tips This week the moves she concentrated on were Twist the Line, Scoot and Little, Swing and Circle and Swing the Fraction. Some of the positions she put us in were very hard and I lost my phantoms so I wasn't successful. Overall I was successful because I pin a couple who were great dancers. I had a fun afternoon dancing to Ett and with friends.  

Third was Dave Eno C1/A2 dance at 6:00 for an hour and a half. The format was three tips of C1 and three tips of A2. Dave called by himself and did a super job. For the C1 tips there were 5 participants and the A2 tips had 6 participants. I had a fun evening of dancing with friends.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today was Event: Hard Road Mini of 5 games. It took me 53 minutes and 17 seconds, which put me in 23rd place in my group. Then I moved onto playing Angry Birds.

I played the weekly challenge of pinball, which is Guardian of the Galaxy and played Junk Yard. Both games I accidentally pushed two player so I got two scores. I got a new high score in Guardians of the Galaxy, which was 196,116,940. This score made me Grand Champion on the game. While playing Junk Yard I became Grand Champion and High Score #1. I had a great day of playing pinball.

I worked out with the Wii Fit for a half hour and Just Dance 3 for a half hour. Just Dance 3 was the first Just Dance program I got. You have a choice of just dancing or doing a sweat playlist. The sweat playlist has a lot of options to choose from. The one I choose was Duets, where you choose the character you want to dance like. There were nine songs to dance to. I haven't done this program in a very long time and had fun.

I worked on my jigsaw puzzle, Mickey and Minnie Mouse and finished it. This was the last puzzle of the Disney four 500 piece puzzle kit. The puzzles were Alice in Wonderland, 2 Mickey and Minnie Mouse and Beauty and the Beast. I had a great time assembling the four puzzles.

While I danced Larry continued working on his jukebox project. Today he worked on the switches. He has them installed and is wiring them. 

After Dave's dance we watched June on Paramount +. It was a documentary about June Carter Cash. It was very well done. After Larry went to bed I watched Iron Man 2. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 1st place in my group.

 

Tuesday 1-16-24 Dancing, Playing Games, Working Out & Jukebox

 

Keeping warm

We had another cold day. It started at 16 degrees and got to 30 degrees. It felt a lot warmer outside because the sun was shining. 

We started the day by attending Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly A2 dance at 10:00 for an hour and fifteen minutes. Our in person dance was cancelled due to it being too cold. Di and Terry alternated calling five tips to 14 participants. Some of the dancers were having problems so Di and Terry cued more then usual. That was ok because I like the extra cueing. Di worked on Chain Reaction from different places and Pass and Roll in a full square. Larry danced with me and we had a super time dancing with friends.

I worked out for a half hour with the Wii Fit and Gold's Gym for a half hour. I worked on the Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse jigsaw puzzle.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today was Event: Pyramid Adventure of 20 games. It took me 4 hours, 43 minutes and 38 seconds, which put me in 19th place in my group. Then I moved onto playing Angry Birds.

I played pinball on both the pinball cabinet and the arcade cabinet. The games on the pinball machine was Guardians of the Galaxy, Doctor Who, Fun House and Medieval Madness. I got a new high score playing Guardians of the Galaxy, which was 99,090,260. Fun House I came in high score #2 of 7,004,140. On the arcade cabinet I played Cirqus Voltaire, Fun House and Killer Klowns. I didn't get on the board but I had a fun time.

In the evening we watched YouTube videos. We started watching a private detective series on Acorn called Monsieur Spade. It only had one episode but so far I like it. Then we watched CBS On The Road with Steve Hartman. We streamed them and they were very interesting. One amazing story was about a dog that only had three legs but the front one was deformed so he walks on the two back legs. He was amazing. Then I watched The Incredible Hulk from the Marvel series of movies. I ended up doing 17,500 steps, which put me in 2nd place in my group.
