Saturday 7-12-25 Bedroom Blind, Games & Jigsaw Puzzle

 

Happy Saturday

 

We had a very nice day. We were entertained most of the day watching the landscapers next door. Our new neighbor hired some landscapers to do some work. A week or so ago they installed a small wall a few feet back from the driveway and the front of the house. Then he had them put some soil in the open area and planted bushes. It's looking great. Today the landscapers installed some block slabs for steps from the front door to the pool area. Larry went over and talked to Jose, who is owner of the landscaping company. He explained that they couldn't elevate the slabs because when it rained it would drain into our yard. Jose said that was not a problem they were going to sink them a little and have them go down the hill. By the end of the day the stepping stones going around the house looked good. They have not yet worked on the ones in the drainage area.

Yesterday, Larry replaced the living room blind with a new one. Today he modified the old blind so it could fit the master bedroom window. He had to cut the old blind rod and material down to fit. Then he installed the blind. It works great.

Covid update. We are slowly improving. We are coughing less but tiredness is still an issue. Larry has to move quite slowly and at times he has to stop and rest.

During one of Larry's rest periods his mother called. She had tried to email but was having difficulties so she called. Very nice of her. Unfortunately one of her two dogs is nearing the end. It is so sad to loose a pet. They provide so much love, attention and entertainment and it breaks your heart to loose them. Of the dogs she has had in the last few decades this is her favorite. She will miss him greatly.

I played the Daily Challenges of the Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Two Game Tango of 20 games (10 Pyramid and 10 Tri Peaks). It took me 1 hour, 44 minutes and 40 seconds, which put me in 18th place in my group. I played Angry Birds.

I played three games of pinball, which were Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, X-Men and World Cup Soccer. While playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and got a new high score of 6,080,540, which put me in 38th place out of 55 participants. I came in high score #1 while playing World Cup Soccer. I had a great time playing pinball.

I'm out of diamond paintings so I decided to put a jigsaw puzzle together. I decided on Art Galley, a 2,000 piece puzzle of Birdhouses. I haven't put a jigsaw puzzle together since 5/31/24, it's going to be challenging and fun. So far I've done the frame.

In the evening we watched The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen from the our movies collection. After Larry went to bed I watched Fiddler on the Roof from our collection.
