Saturday 2-1-25 Visiting Louise, Projects & Games

Just having fun

We had a gorgeous day with sunshine and a high of 72 degrees.

Louise had called Larry the other day and told him her cell phone wasn't charging correctly nor was it keeping the charge. She also told him that her house phone wasn't working. He ordered her a new cell phone and screen protectors. The screen protectors arrived a couple of days ago and the phone arrived yesterday. He applied one of the screen protector on the phone.

This morning we went to Round Rock to visit Louise and her dog (Alice). We arrived at Louise's house about 9:00 and left around 12:30. Larry started out by moving all the data and programs from her current phone to the new one. He also transferred the phone number. He told Louise she could sell the old one on E-Bay if she wanted to. Then he moved onto the house phone and found out the problem was the box it plugs into wasn't working. He is not sure if the box went bad or the power supply. He brought it home with us to figure it out. While we were there I worked on her jig saw puzzle and played with Alice.

For lunch I cooked some HEB sweet-sour pork and tater tots in her air fryer. The air fryer doesn't work like mine so it was challenging. It didn't pre-heat before adding the food. You can only use the pre-programmed time and temperature for the food and you can't set your own time and temperature you desire. The air fryer I have you can use the pre-programmed time and temperature or do your own time and temperature. The food came out tasting good. For dessert we had Little Debbie Oatmeal Creme cookies.

We had a great visit.

On the way home we stopped by The UPS Store to pick up our mail. We had only one piece of junk mail. Then we filled the car with gas.

When we got home Larry did a few projects. He changed the oil and filter in car. While doing this he replaced the cabin filter and the engine air filter. He also cleaned the throttle body. In order to clean the throttle body he removed it from the engine and sprayed it with a cleaner. Then he removed the cleaner with paper towels. Lately when it is very cold something under the car had been rattling. Larry jacked the car up and found a piece of molding on the passenger front side was loose. He drilled a hole and attached it with a screw, washers and locking nut. After all that it was time to clean up. We put the old oil in the oil container and cleaned the pan. Larry blew out the garage after the projects were done.

The neighbor's came out and started shouting hoops. We went over and visited with them. Jason's parents were visiting and they were shooting hoops with their granddaughter and grandson. While we were visiting I found a fire ant hill, or I should say it found me. Larry went and got the Amdro and treated the hill. We had a very nice visit with the neighbors.

It is the beginning of the month, part of Larry's first of the month rituals is to fill the septic system with bleach. Over the years he has shown me a couple of times how this is done. This afternoon for the very first time in my life I put the bleach in the septic system.

While we were at Louise's house Larry had a program running on our computer backing it up to the internet.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Tri Peaks Mini of 10 games. It took me 24 minutes and 55 seconds, which put me in 8th place in my group. Then I moved onto playing Angry Birds.

I played four pinball games today. I played the weekly challenge of Red & Ted's Road Show, The Big Lebowski (new game), The Godfather and Superman and the Justice League.

I worked on the Fairy diamond painting.

In the evening Larry subscribed us to BritBox. We use to subscribe but I had watched everything I wanted so we cancelled. Now they have added a lot of new seasons and even new shows so we re-subscribed. Tonight we started watching the last season of Vera. There are only two up right now and we watched one of them. Then I finished watching the 3rd season of Sister Boniface Mysteries on BritBox. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 5th place in my group.
