Birthday Celebration

We had an outstanding day. It got to 101 degrees and plenty of sunshine. 

We invited Louise to come out today to celebrate all of our birthdays. Before Louise and Alice showed up Larry backed the truck out of the garage and in front of the boat's bay. I got the boat ready to go. I put towels, vests and gloves in the boat. Louise and Alice showed up at 9:00. We said our hellos and put Alice in a dog kennel and then we went to the lake. Today was the first day this year that Louise came out to go to the lake. There was a nice breeze making it perfect for floating and swimming while we visited. We had a super day on the lake.

When we got home Louise let Alice out of the kennel, she was one happy dog. Larry and I unloaded the boat to let the vests and towels dry. For lunch I barbecued some pork cutlets that were flavored with hatch chilies, we also had a southwest medley of vegetables. Louise brought a German Chocolate cake, it is her favorite dessert. After lunch we opened our gifts. Before opening the gifts I took a picture, it looked like Christmas. It took us about an hour. We received a lot of wonderful gifts. Thank you Ma for all the gifts you sent to us and the delicious snacks. We had a great morning and part of the afternoon visiting with Louise and playing with Alice.

After Louise and Alice left we went to the UPS Store to pick up a few packages that we hoped to receive before we went on our trip. One was the last item from the Home Depot special Halloween Seeds Program. It was a skull to use in the house. It was huge and heavy. We were surprised on how durable the skull is. It's cute and the eyes light up. This is the first item from the Seeds Program that came out of China and delivered via Fed Ex.

The Halloween Skill

 I spent the rest of the afternoon doing my daily solitaire challenges. In the evening we watched the Disney movie Up. We hadn't watched it in years and I didn't remember how cute and funny it was. We watched three episodes of Boston Legal. I finished watching London Kills series.
