It was another cold day but by the end of the day it was close to 60 and the wind had died down a little.
Today was Fat Tuesday. We celebrated at two Mardi Gras dances. In the morning we went to Tropic Star for Joe Saltel's Mardi Gras A dance. As we entered into the hall there were tables full of beads, hats and masks to celebrate Mardi Gras. A husband and wife (Jim and Jane) supplied all of the stuff. There were three ladies that dressed up as Mimes (Karen, Joyce and Jane). Their mime disguise was so good we couldn't tell who they were and they played the part by not talking. The people that greeted us at the door told us to take as many beads as we wanted, so I did. Shirley saw that Larry didn't have any beads so she made him wear one set of beads. Joe started out with a big tall hat but that came off and a smaller one went on. A lot of people dressed up for the dance. Joe had seven squares and everyone had to dance. The dance was a lot of fun.

We had an hour break for lunch so we went to What-A-Burger. We were back to dancing at Pharr South just across the street from Tropic Star. Jim and Jane had packed up all their stuff and relocated it there. This was Darryl Lipscomb's C1 Mardi Gras dance. The dancers put the beads on and Darryl put on one of the hats. Darryl had seven squares, he was shy one couple to make eight. Darryl wore one of the Jester hats. We had a great time dancing with friends and to Darryl.

On the way home we stopped by the local car wash. We had rain off and on a couple of days, combine that with all the stuff falling from the oak trees and the car was filthy
In the evening I went over and played Bingo.Twenty-five people were at bingo. There were eight games, then a break, then another eight games. The payouts were $3.40 for seven and $10 for the eighth one. I won the last game. It costs $3.60 for three cards so I left a head of the game. Ruth baked peanut butter cookies and a chocolate cake, no icing but there was Cool Whip to put on top. I had a super evening.
