Saturday 3-9 Red Solo Cup Social

J-Five Red Solo Cup Social

Today was another hot day. It got into the mid to high 90's and it was windy.

We started the day off by going to the J-Five get together. They went through all the events that are happening in the park this week.

Afterwards we went to Don Wes Flea Market. Larry had bought a really nice western shirt with snaps there awhile back so we wanted see if they had something similar with short sleeves. We found one with a really nice horse scene across the chest that we liked, we bought two of them so we could match. Then we bought one solid color shirt, they only had one short sleeve in that color. The majority of western shirts are long sleeves.

When we got home we relaxed a little and had a ham sandwich for lunch. We were getting ready to go to Randy's C1 Dance, Larry decided to wake up the phone and there was a message from Char saying the dance was cancelled because the hall wasn't available this afternoon. Glen had also put a post on Facebook and Lanny left us a phone message. Larry replied to all of them and thanked them for letting us know. Instead of dancing we hung around the Minnie and read.

In the evening I went over to the hall for the Red Solo Cup Social. The activity team: Mary, Rebel, Fiona and Kim put on a great three hour event. It had line dancing, Karaoke, chicken dance, people doing the twist and a couple of games. The first game was bowling, where you rolled a ping pong bowl down a board that had cups on the side, each cup has a number on it that indicated your score. If you got it all the way you got 25 points. The one that has the top point got a prize, which was a Solo insulated cup. They had to go through three different rounds to get the winner. The other game was using a small pair of tweezers to put a M&M out of a big Solo cup and put it in a smaller Solo cup. You had 30 seconds to fill the smaller cup. At the end of 30 seconds your M&Ms were counted. This time they didn't have a playoff round. A lady won with a total of 13 M&Ms. It 's harder than it looked I tried it and got 7. A couple that live in the park were the disc jockey's. They did a great job. When people were singing people got up and danced. The event was a lot of fun.
