Monday 8-5-24 Dancing, Diamond Painting, Jukebox Project & More

 

Happy Monday

We had another super day of having fun.

We started the day out by attending Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly C1 at 9:00 for an hour. Di called five tips to 14 participants. She worked on Triangles, Cross Roll, Cast A Shadow and other four couple moves. Larry danced four of the tips with me. We had a super hour of dancing with friends.

After the dance Larry decided to start working on his jukebox. This one is red but otherwise it looks like the yellow one. While it will look very similar to the yellow one it will be far more versatile. Quite a few weeks ago he designed and created a couple of templates via the Cameo to help with the conversion of these machines. He sent the templates along with the jukebox to Frank so today he had to cutout new ones. He used one of the templates to paint the glass and the other to cut a hole for a power switch. He also drilled a hole in the box for a USB connector. Later on he made stickers on the Cameo. It's going to take awhile to complete.

I started working on my next diamond painting, which is a cat. It's from the same company as the last one.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Easy Street of 30 games. It took me 1 hour, 9 minutes and 38 seconds, which put me in 15th place in my group. Then I moved onto playing Angry Birds.

A couple of days ago a guy put up a YouTube video on some virtual reality pinball tables. One of the tables that looked really interesting was Avatar. This morning Larry installed it in both 2D and Virtual Reality. Then he played it to make sure it worked. In VR It's a beautiful game and plays very well, in 2D it's not very impressive.

I played Avatar and five other games. They were Twilight Zone, X-Files, The Machine Bride of Pin*Bolt, Terminator 3 and The Game of Thrones. I got a new high score in X-Files. I had a great afternoon of playing pinball. Avatar is a lot of fun and the graphics are great.

I worked out with Synth Riders for an hour.

In the evening we watched the Olympics. When Larry went to bed I watched Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollow Part 1. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 3rd place in my group. This is a very good start for the week. 

 

Sunday 8-4-24 New Weekly Challenge, Crafting & More

 

Beautiful Day

We had an outstanding day. We hung around the house just having fun.

While relaxing we saw a roadrunner running down the street. When he got up Larry saw a lot of deer in the backyard. We had a hummingbird drinking from the the feeder all afternoon.

Larry completed his multilayer music card. He said it difficult, the lines are much thinner than they appear in the photo, getting the pieces off the sticky mat and gluing them down was a challenge. He had fun and it paid off because it came out very nice.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Spider Mini of 5 games. It took me 21 minutes and 31 seconds, which put me in 31st. I very rarely get in the top 10 when doing Spider. Then I played Angry Birds.

Today starts a new weekly pinball challenge. This weeks challenge is X-Files. We played X-Files a year ago. Larry did not think it was a very good game so when he rebuilt the computer for the pinball machine he did not reinstall it. This morning he downloaded and installed the current version. Last year we didn't have VR, the game looks much better in VR but after playing it Larry is still not a fan. 

I first of all did last week's challenge Twilight Zone, I had a new high score but I didn't summit it because it didn't move up and it was only a little bit more. The new score was 222,551,930, which put me in 33rd place out of 59 participants. I played the X-Files and got 4,954,170, which put me in 8th place out of 8 participants so far.

I also played Terminator 3, Goldeneye, The Flintstones and Fish Tales. When playing Terminator I came in #2 high score. I had a fun afternoon playing pinball.

Larry played three games of pinball, which were Mission Impossible, Terminator 3 and The Godfather. He got on the board for Terminator 3 as #2, which knocked me down to #3 high score. He had a good day of pinball. 

In the evening we watched the Olympics. When Larry went to bed I watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I ended up doing 17,000 steps, which put me in 4th place in my group for the week with 120,086 steps.

 

 

 

 

 

Saturday 8-3-24 Crafting, Games & Having Fun

 

Happy Saturday

We had a very nice Saturday with the high temperature of 99 degrees.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Tri Peaks Adventure of 20 games. It took me 1 hour, 8 minutes and 56 seconds, which put me in 11th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds and Friends.

I spent a lot of the day finishing my diamond painting crafting project. It took me a little longer than expected because I mixed up two colors, I switched two trays by accident. I was working with the two trays side by side when I put them by their bags I didn't realize I switched them until I had to fill one of the trays with more diamonds. It was the wrong color. I was glad I had only used the wrong color for a couple of rows. It was an easy fix. The painting came out super.

While I did the diamond painting Larry worked on a new paper crafting project, it is a music multilayer project. He liked the original design but thought it would look better with some changes. He spent hours editing, cutting and choosing colors. He is still working on it but he is getting closer. The pieces have a lot of detail and took time to cut.

Larry installed a new pinball game yesterday called Terminator 3 in both 2D and Virtual Reality. We played it a little yesterday. It has a great VR room.

In the afternoon I played pinball. The games I played were Twilight Zone, Terminator 3, The Machine Bride of Pin*Bot and The Godfather. While playing Terminator 3 I entered my initials as high score #2 and The Godfather I entered my initials as high score #4. I had a good day of pinball.

Friday 8-2-24 Cameo Project, Diamond Painting & Games

 

It's Friday

We had a super day of hanging around the house. I usually attend Ett McAtee's Weekly A2 at 6:30 but this week she was out of town.

I played the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: World Tour Mini of 10 games. It took me 32 minutes and 58 seconds, which put me in 10th place in my group. Then I moved onto playing Angry Birds.

Larry continued working with the new pinball game program. He converted Mission Impossible into virtual reality. He is having a lot of fun converting the games. The playfield is in virtual reality but it doesn't have a virtual reality room. The games work excellent. Once he did this he played the game to make sure, that it worked. He also played Queen, The Godfather, The Machine Bride of Pin*Bot and James Bond Goldeneye. He had a great day of playing pinball.

I played the same games and two more (Aerosmith and Twilight Zone). I enter my initials as the 4th high score in Aerosmith and #2 in The Godfather. I also had a great day of playing pinball.

After Larry played pinball he moved onto paper crafting. He made a couple of Santa Claus cards for Christmas.

For dinner I cooked a frozen pizza on the grill, it was a Hawaiian Style Pizza. After dinner we watched the Olympics. When Larry went to bed I watched Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I ended up doing 17,000 steps, which put me in 2nd place in my group.

Thursday 8/1/24 New Month, Games, Olympics & More

 

Happy August

Today was the beginning of August. We had another relaxing day.

Larry backs up the computer at the beginning of every month. He put bleach in the septic system a couple of days ago. 

Larry started the day out by mowing the frontyard and the north side of the house. Then he weedeated and blew off the driveway and porch. He treated for fire ants.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Hard Road Mini of 10 games. It took me 1 hour, 34 minutes and 21 seconds to complete, which put me in 27th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds and Friends.

After lunch I worked out using the Synth Riders for an hour.

I played pinball. The games I played were Twilight Zone, Judge Dredd, The Sopranos and The Machine Bride of Pin*Bot. While playing Twilight Zone I got a new high score of 221,189,910, which put me in 19th place out of 33 participants. I also became Grand Champion in Judge Dredd and fourth high score in The Sopranos. I had a super day of playing pinball.

Larry read a book  and played pinball. The games he played were Lethal Weapon, The Get Away and Cirqus Voltaire. He had a lot of fun playing the games.

Wednesday 7-31-24 Dance Day & Playing Games

 

Beautiful Summer Day

Today was another beautiful day with the high of 96 degrees.

I started the day out by playing games. I did the Daily Challenge of Solitaire and Mahjong before I went to bed. Before my first dance I did the event, which was Event: World Tour Mini of 10 games. It took me 32 minutes and 2 seconds to complete, which put me in 12th place in my group. Then I played some Angry Birds.

I attended three virtual squares dances. First was Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly Plus at 10:00 for an hour. Di and Terry called five tips to 11 participants. One of the participants was also finished with Plus classes at Di's local club and she just wanted to watch to see how we dance virtually. During the fifth tips Di called a couple of four couple moves, which were Spin Chain The Gears and Spin Chain Thru. Di and Terry did an excellent job of calling and cueing through out the dance. I had a great time dancing with friends.

Second was Ett McAtee's Weekly C1 at 1:00 for and hour. She called four tips to 17 participants. We just danced. I had less problems this week so it was a lot more fun. Ett's a good caller but sometimes I think she forgets most of the dancers at her Wednesday dance are single dancers so we have a tendency of losing our phantoms. I had a fun time dancing to Ett and with friends.

Third was Dave Eno's Weekly C1/A2 at 6:00 for an hour and a half. Karin Rabe and Greg Moore helped him call the dance. The format was three C1 tips, three A2 tips and a couple of Trivia questions in between the A2 tips. Karin and Greg shared calling one tip in each C1 and A2. The third tip Dave, Karin and Greg all called in both C1 and A2. During the C1 tips there were 6 participants and A2 tips had 9 participants. I had a great evening dancing with friends.

Larry added a new game to the pinball cabinet called The Machine - Bride Of Pin*Bot. After installing the game he played it and had an outstanding time. He also played The Godfather. After dinner Larry played James Bond 60th Anniversary and Godzilla (Marty's). He had a great day of playing pinball.

In between Di and Terry's dance and Ett's dance I workout with the Synth Riders for an hour.

After Ett's dance I played pinball. I played The Machine Bride of Pin*Bot, The Godfather, The Sopranos and Twilight Zone. Larry was the Grand Champion in The Machine Bride of Pin*Bot but I knocked him out of that position. When I played The Sopranos I got the 4th high score. I had a great afternoon of playing pinball.
