Thursday 8-14-25 Implant, Grocery Shopping, Fudge & More

 

Hot Humid Day

 

We had a hot humid day with the high of 100 degrees. 

We're planning to start our fall trip next Thursday so we started the day out by going grocery shopping. We go shopping at Aldi before our trips because it has items we usually don't buy. Before stopping at Aldi we stopped at HEB because it was just down the street from Aldi. We picked up some items. It's Hatch chili season so we picked up some pork and cheese. We usually buy Mission Tostada Shells but we prefer the HEB brand. The final stop was Aldi for some more groceries. We like shopping at Aldi but Walmart is more convenient. We always buy more food than we plan to buy.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Spider Mini of 5 games. It took me 18 minutes and 42 seconds, which put me in 22nd place in my group. I played Angry Birds and Friends and Angry Birds 2.

Reading is fun

 

At 1:30 we went back to town because I had a dentist appointment to get my implant put in. I was in the chair for about an hour. The dentist planned to wait a couple of weeks to take out the stitches but since we are going out of town he will take them out next Wednesday.

Getting a new implant

 

 While waiting to be called into the back room we received a surprise e-mail from the gentleman, who bought our boat a few years ago. He said he wanted to give us an update on the boat. It spent the summer in Southern Colorado on the lake with his son and wife. He also sent us some pictures. It was weird because we were just talking about the boat. It was very nice he still writes us once in awhile. It still looks great. 

On the way home we stopped by another HEB to pick up a couple of prescriptions. Then we went across the street to pick up a package at The UPS Store. It was another package from Shirley. While there we picked up our mail. The package was a couple more birthday gifts and fudge with walnuts in it. We munched on the fudge in the evening. It was delicious. Thank you, Shirley for the fudge.

I played four games of pinball, which were Big Bang Bar, Nightmare Before Christmas, No Fear and NBA Fast Break. While playing Nightmare Before Christmas I before high score #2 and I became Grand Champion in No Fear. I got a new high score in the weekly challenge of NBA Fast Break of 92 points, which put me in 50th place out of 54 participants.

In the evening I worked on my puzzle of the Playground. We continued watching the third season of Professor T. When Larry went to bed I watch Beauty and the Beast from our movies collections. I ended up doing 5,000 steps.
