Thursday 7-31-25 Superman, Pizza, Games & Puzzle

 

104 degrees day

 

We had another hot day of a temperature over 100 degrees. It got up to 104 degrees at our house. On the Weather Underground site it got up to 106 degrees in Belton, Texas.

 

Keeping cool

I spent a big part of the day working on my jigsaw puzzle of birdhouses. I worked on it in the morning for an hour and a half. Then in the evening while I watched television.

 

We decided to go see Superman. It has been playing for awhile but due to Covid we haven't felt well. The theater we usually go to is the Cinemark in Temple but today we went to Grand Avenue Theater in Belton. The theater is very nice. The entrance has a waterfall, that runs down the front of the building. Inside the theater there is a soda fountain area, where they sell sundaes, ice cream and milk shakes. The ticket counter is right in front of you. The theaters are on both side of the area. They had a lot of employees who greeted us with a smile. They were very friendly. The theaters were clean. We enjoy watching adventure movies and super hero movies but we were disappointed in this movie. The reviews on the movie were very good.

After the movie we stopped by the UPS Store to get our mail. We didn't have any. This was a big surprise. It was lunchtime so we swung by Little Caesars and bought a Hot-N-Ready pepperoni pizza. We had the pizza for lunch and dinner.

In the afternoon I played my Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event is Event: Tri Peaks Mini of 5 games. It took me 8 minutes and 30 seconds, which put me in 19th place in my group. I played Angry Birds.

I played a game of Asteroid Outpost on Bounce Arcade. I earned a gold trophy, mined 5 times and got all three modules by being successful in the mining 3 time. Then I mined a couple more times to move onto the next step. I also played a couple of multiballs. It was great game of Asteroid Outpost.

I played seven games of pinball on the cabinet. I usually let the cabinet randomly choose for me but today I decided to play the games I wanted. I had a great time. The games were Attacked From Mars, The Creature From The Black Lagoon, Jaws, Rambo, Superman and the Justice League, Transformers and Ripley's Believe It or Not. While playing The Creature From The Black Lagoon I came in as high score #2 and Jaws I came in as high score #3. I got a new high score for the weekly challenge of Ripley's Believe It or Not of 14,348,630. This score moved me up from 35 to 25 out of 46 participants.

In the evening we started watching the third season of The Wheel of Time on Amazon. After Larry went to bed I watched Iron Man 2 out of our movies collection. I didn't do too well on my steps I only did 2,000 steps.
