Wednesday 7-23-25 Dance Day, Puzzle, E-Reader & More

Get a partner and dance

 

We had a wonderful day. I spent most of the day square dancing virtually.

I attended three square dances. First was Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly Plus at 10:00 for an hour. This week they were on the road so Ett McAtee covered for them. There were only two dancers, who attended the dance. Ett asked if we wanted to dance A2 or Plus considering we both knew A2. We decided to dance A2. Ett called three tips. In between the tips we talked about dancing and where we danced. I mentioned that Larry and I had Covid after the convention in San Francisco. She asked if we mentioned it the organizer Michael. I told her no. She said she heard there were seven dancers, who had Covid from the dancing. Now there was nine but she pretty sure there were others but they hadn't reported it.

Second was Ett McAtee's Weekly C1 at 1:00 for an hour. She thanked me for reminding her about the dance because she sent out an e-mail right after Di's dance. During her dance she had sixteen participants and she called four tips. I had fun dancing with friends. 

Third was Dave Eno's Weekly C1/A2 at 6:00 for an hour and a half. Karin Rabe and Greg Moore was there this week to help Dave call the dance. The format was three tips of C1 to eight participants, three tips of A2 to ten participants and two trivial question about Ozzy Osbourne. I had a super evening of dancing with friends.

While I danced Larry continued learning more about the e-reader software. He should receive his new e-reader tomorrow. He learned a lot on how the e-reader works.

After Ett's dance the mowers showed up to mow our yards. It was the regular crew and they did a great job of mowing, weedeating and blowing off the drive and porches.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Two Game Tango Mini of 6 games (3 Klondike and 3Tri Peaks). it took me 12 minutes and 29 seconds, which put me in 24th place in my group. I played Angry Birds and Angry Birds and Friends.

After Ett's dance I played one game of Gunpowder Gulch on Bounce Arcade. I earned a silver trophy. I played five multiballs, which were Crack the Safe, Saloon, Wooden Sign and two Jailhouse Break. I played Barrel Barrage (three times), Quick Draw ( once), Gunfight (two times) and Cracked the Safe (once). I solved two of the events, which were Gunfight and Cracked the Safe. It was a great game.

I played four games of pinball. I played the weekly challenge of Dracula (3 times), Mission Impossible, Ted's Road Show and The Creature From The Black Lagoon. I didn't get on the board but I had fun.

I did some housework. I vacuumed the house, dusted and cleaned the bathrooms.

After Dave's dance we watched a couple of episodes of The Wheel of Time on Amazon. Then I started watching the Mission Impossible movies from our movies collection. I watched Mission Impossible. I ended up doing 3,000 steps.

 

 

    

Tuesday 7-22-25 Dancing to Di and Terry, Games, Puzzle & New Reader

We had a very nice Tuesday. It was a beautiful day with sunshine and the high of 98 degrees. There was a small breeze.

We started the day off attending Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly A2 dance at 10:00 for an hour. It was nice to see them back from their trip to the United States. We enjoyed meeting them at the convention in San Francisco. Di called the whole dance, which was five tips to 8 participants. Terry didn't feel well enough to call but he danced with her. Larry danced four of the tips with me. We had a super time.

Larry has been watching YouTube videos on different book readers. He has also been researching them via the web. He ordered one of them on Amazon, it is a 7" e-ink device. It should be here Thursday. He download an e-reader program on his tablet and loaded some of his e-books on it. He's playing with it to get familiar with it. He's having a great time playing with the program and watching videos on them. There are a lot of people who own multiple e-readers and love most of them. They use them for different things.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: World Tour Mini of 10 games. It took me 1 hour, 50 minutes and 48 seconds, which put me in 23rd place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds and Angry Birds and Friends.

I worked out with the Synth Riders for a half hour. Then I played three games of Gunpowder Gulch. I didn't play very well. The third game I earned a silver trophy. I played the Quick Draw (2), Barrel Barred (2), Gunfight (1) and Cracked the Safe (1). I ended up cracking the safe and I played the Saloon Multiball and the Jailhouse Break Multiball. I had fun.

In the evening we started watching a series on Amazon called The Wheel of Time. The first episode of the first season started was very slow and the second episode was better. We'll continue watching to see where it goes. It has been on Amazon for three seasons. Then I watched Alice Through the Looking Glass. I did 3,500 steps.  

 

  

Monday 7-21-25 Reading, Puzzle, Workout & Games

 

Happy Monday

 

We had a great Monday. 

We usually dance C1 to Di Green and Terry McCann on Mondays but Di had to cancel, she is still working and she had meetings to attend for her job.

Larry finished reading Conclave. We have the movie and he said the movie followed closely to the book. He liked this very much and enjoyed reading the book.

After finishing Conclave Larry downloaded a new book reader on his tablet. He wants to play with a new book reader. We love our Kindles but he wants to play with some other options. Kindles are tied to Amazon and other e-readers are not.    

Every Monday I play Solitaire games (16) so my points will double. So I played Spider hard level of 16 games, this unlocked the golden ticket to double my points. I played the event, which was Event: Easy Street Mini of 5 games. It took me 11 minutes and 20 seconds, which put me in 8th place in my group. I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. I played Angry Birds and Angry Birds and Friends.

Afterwards I played two games of Monster Manor on Bounce Arcade. I ended up earning a bronze trophy each time but the second game was the best. I tried to stun the manor twice and failed. I was successful waking the manor two times. I didn't play too well but had fun.

I played four games of pinball. I played the weekly challenge of Dracula and got close to getting a new high score. Then I played Cirqus Voltaire, Bay Watch and Big Bang Bar. While playing Cirqus Voltaire I didn't get a new high score but I joined the Cirqus, which means I entered my initials in the game. I also went to battle with the ringmaster and defeated him. I had a great game of Cirqus Voltaire.

In the evening we watched Star Trek Into Darkness and I watched Alice in Wonderland from our movies collection. Today I did 3,500 steps, I'm slowly working myself up to 12,000 steps.

 

 

 

   

Sunday 7-20-25 Covid Free, Games, Puzzle & Reading

 

Awesome Day

 

I'm Covid free. I have been fighting Covid for two weeks and the last four days I've been feeling good. I still have a little cough. I took a test this afternoon and it came back negative. This was my third test. C is the control line and T is the test line. When you are positive a line shows up on both C and T.

Larry finished reading the Martian on his Kindle. He said he liked the movie better because the book had too much technical science information. Then he started another book.

I worked on my jigsaw puzzle most of the day.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: The Hard Road of 16 games. It took me 1 hour, 43 minutes and 29 seconds, which put me in 12th place in my group. I played Angry Birds and Angry Birds and Friends. 

Today is a beginning of a new weekly pinball challenge. I played last week's challenge of Truck Stop a few times to get a new high score but was unsuccessful. My high score put me in 39th out of 74 participants. So far this weeks challenge has three participants but it just the first day. My first high score for Dracula challenge is 105,455,910.

Saturday 7-19-25 Trip Research, Games & Synth Riders

We had a laid back day. We just hung around the house. One of those days where I didn't feel like doing anything. 

In a bit over a month we will be heading out on our Fall Trip. We're thinking about going to Canada. Today Larry looked at what we will need to do for cell phone and internet access if we do go there.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: World Tour Mini of 10 games. it took me 34 minutes and 36 seconds, which put me in 13th place in my group. I played Angry Birds and Angry Birds and Friends.

After lunch I was feeling good so I decided to workout with the Synth Riders for a half hour. Then I played two Pirate's Plunder on the Bounce Arcade. The second game was my best game. I earned a silver trophy and defeated my enemies twice. I got the Jolly Roger twice and earned an extra ball. I played Bounce Arcade for a half hour.

While I was playing Bounce Arcade Larry watched some YouTube videos. He had to be careful when he walked in front of me because I was moving my arms around to hit the balls to play the game. I was playing Bounce Arcade and the Synth Riders in VR so I had my headset on. A few weeks ago Larry bought a new face piece for my headset. With the old one I could not see anything outside of the VR world, with this one I can see outside a bit and told him be careful I might hit him. The openings in the new face piece also make it cooler.

I played seven different games of pinball. I played the weekly challenge of Truck Stop, I didn't get a new high score so I'm in 31st place out of 58 participants. The other six were Metallica (2), Playboy (2), The Lord of the Rings (2), World Tour Joker Poker (2), Star Trek the Next Generation (1) and Spider-Man (1). While playing the second game of Playboy I collected all 12 playmates and played Mansion Mania so I entered my initials as a champion. I had fun.

Larry thinks next weeks pinball challenge will be Dracula, he downloaded and installed it on the cabinet in both 2D and VR. Of course until they announce it you don't know for sure. I'll play it tomorrow.

Friday 7-18-25 Errands, Reading, Games & Getting Better

Happy Friday. Have a great weekend.

We're getting better. It feels more like a head cold or allergies. We feel very well during the day but when the sun goes down the allergies kick in.

We started the day out by going to town. We hadn't checked our mail for three weeks. First stop was at the Little Bohemian Bakery for a cinnamon roll but they were out of cinnamon rolls, this was 10 minutes to 9:00 am. They were sold out of everything but one pastry. First time we have seen this. Then we stopped at the UPS Store and got our mail. There wasn't much. Afterwards we went to Walmart to do a little grocery shopping. Then we went home.

Larry started the book The Martian. We have the movie and Larry wanted to read the book. He said so far it's very scientific with lots of facts on biochemistry.

I ended up playing seven pinball games. I played Truck Stop, Theatre of Magic, Big Bang Bar, JP Space Cadet, Great Houdini, Time Lord and Big Lebowski. While playing Time Lord I entered my initials as high score #4.

I continued working on the Birdhouses jigsaw puzzle.

I was going to go to Ett McAtee's Weekly A2 dance at 6:30 for an hour. I tried to log in for over 15 minutes and gave up. Ett wrote an e-mail about 7:00, she said she fixed the problem and if we wanted to dance she would call. I had moved onto watching television with Larry.

We watched Ford VS Ferrari from our movies collection. When Larry went to bed I watched Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I ended up doing 3,000 steps.
