Tuesday 3-4-25 Dancing C1/A2 & Games

 

Windy Day

 

We had a very windy day with the high 72 degrees. It was a beautiful day with a lot of sunshine. 

The day started out with a down pour of rain. Larry wakes up at 6:00 and does his morning routine. This morning the rain came down in sheets at 6:30.

Today we had our weekly C1/A2 dance in Liberty Hill. On the way to the dance the wind was so strong it moved the car around. When we got to where the dance was we had to get out of the car one at a time. When we opened the door the wind almost blew the door off it's hinges. On the way home it was even stronger, the air quality was very bad, you could barely see in front of you while driving. Larry read that the dust had blown in from West Texas.  

We spent the day at Kay and Bob's house dancing C1/A2. We left the house at 10:30 am and was back at the house at 4:30. 

We danced C1 with Henry and Susan at 12:00 for an hour to a Johnny Preston's two couple tap. The tape had us dance with phantoms. At times it was confusing because we weren't sure if we were dancing with phantoms or back to two couples. Susan figured it out when Johnny didn't say with phantoms it meant we were back to two couples. Henry has the tape on his phone, he uses a program where he can stop the tape when we have problems. This way we have time to discuss the move and what Johnny was calling. We did very well. We enjoy this very much. 

Henry had a blast class for C1 during the weekend at Steiner Ranch in the Austin area. It was a three hour session on both Saturday and Sunday. Susan attended the blast. They said they had 10 people there and only got through 1/3 of what they were planning to do. Most of the dancers hadn't danced for five or more years so they had to walk through the moves. They said they had fun.

John Kephart was back to call the A2 dance at 1:00 for a couple of hours. We had enough people for exactly two squares. When we sign in and paid for the dance we were given a card which told us what square we were in. In between the tips we visited with the other dancers. I usually wear a hat and a belly dance belt but today I left them in the car because the wind was too strong. People asked me where my hat was. We had a great time dancing to John and with friends.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: World Tour Mini of 10 games. It took me 45 minutes and 58 seconds, which put me in 19th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I played four games of pinball. They were Transporter, Rambo, Spiderman and Superman and the Justice League. While playing Spiderman I became the Grand Champion.

I worked on the Princess diamond painting.

 

 

In the evening we watched a movie on Amazon called The Samuel Project. It was about a high school student writing a paper about his grandfather (Samuel). It was a good movie. Then we watched an episode of Elementary. Then I finished watching the 18th season of Murdock Mysteries. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 1st place in my group.
