Friday 10-31-25 Happy Halloween, Dancing, Cultural Activities Center & More

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to everyone. We had a beautiful day with low of 39 degrees and high of 73 degrees. We had a lot of sunshine. Perfect temperature for Halloween celebration. We stayed home. We didn't have any trick of treaters.

I started the day out by doing my Daily Solitaire Event, which was Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 10 games (5 Spider and 5 Pyramid). It took me 48 minutes and 08 seconds, which put me in 13th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds and Friends and Angry Birds 2.

At mid morning Larry asked if I wanted to go to the Cultural Activities Center (CAC) in Temple. We like walking through the center and looking at the art exhibits. We got into the car and went across town to the CAC. One of the exhibits changes out tomorrow, it is going to be about Holly Dunn (August 22, 1957- November 14, 2016). She was a country singer and song writer. She was the most popular female country musician in the late 80's and early 90's. We arrived at the center about 10:00. We walked through the center for a little over an hour. Holly's exhibit was setup but we couldn't walk through a room, which had exhibits with signage about Holly. But we did walk by some of her exhibits. There were other are exhibits on all the walls, some were done by artists from Temple/Belton area. In the main gallery the art on display was from artists in Texas. On the second floor where the classrooms are located there were photos about the history of the Cultural Activities Center. We had a great time looking at the art. Below are some of the art we saw.

On the way home we stopped by Jimmy's Egg and had lunch. We shared a Cuban sandwich and seasoned potatoes. The Cuban sandwich has pulled pork, shaved ham, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard on a grilled Cuban bread. The food and service was good and the waitress did a great job. Thank you honey for lunch.

When we got home I worked out for 40 minutes with Synth Riders. I worked out with four songs, which were Empire of Steel, Abyss & 3 Force, Automatic Call and The Evil Dab. The Evil Dab was a new song for Halloween. It was fun to workout to. I did each song twice and earned six new high score and two outstanding scores.

After workout I played one game of Gunpowder Gulch on Bounce Arcade for a half hour. I earned a gold trophy, played four multiballs (Jailhouse Breakout, Safe Cracked, Saloon and Wooden Sign Rally), earned an extra ball and played the events 6 times (Quick Drawl twice, Barrel Barrage twice, Gunfight once and Safe Crack once) and was successful on two of them. I thought I was going to have a bad game because the first two ball I lost very fast. I had a super game.

Larry has been playing with his old floor jack, it is over 25 years old. It's a hydraulic jack and it started to slowly leak down, it had gotten worse so a year or so ago he replaced it. The other day he used it along with the newer jack when he was working on the Minnie. He wondered if he could fix it.

He did research via YouTube videos on how to fix the old jack problem. He did what the videos said to do and then tested the jack by lifting the car. He left the jack under the car over night and it didn't go down. Now the jack works perfect. Today he washed and cleaned the old jack. He is happy to have two perfectly working floor jacks.

Larry played six games of pinball on the big cabinet, which were Playboy, Mission Impossible, Junk Yard, The Creature From The Black Lagoon, James Bond 60th Anniversary and Queen. He had a lot of fun.

Later on I played the same games and the weekly challenge Indianapolis 500. When I played The Creature From The Black Lagoon I became Grand Champion. When I played Playboy I got all 12 playmates and played Mansion Mania, which I entered my initials as a mansion champion. I had a good day of playing pinball.

I continued assembling the jigsaw puzzle of the centerpiece.

In the evening I attended Ett McAtee's Weekly A2 dance at 6:30 for an hour. It was a Halloween Dance some of the dancers dressed up. I wore my Halloween vest outfit, a couple of ladies (Jenny out of Austria and Ann out of Canada) wore a witch's hat and others wore tee shirts or the Halloween colors. Ett called five tips to 12 participants. I had fun dancing to Ett and with friends.

After the dance we watched Shrek the Third out of our movies collection. When Larry went to bed I watched the last The Lord of the Rings called The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. I ended up doing 1,000 steps. But I really did more but I took off my band to charge it and forgot to put it back on until late afternoon.

We had an awesome day.
