Sunday 9-17-23 Moving on, Site Seeing & Casino Camping

Smile and have fun

We had a wonderful day.

I woke up about 7:00 and made pancakes for breakfast. Then we got the Minnie ready for its next adventure. We put everything down and secure. Then I took the trash to the dumpster. When I got back Larry backed the Minnie off it's blocks and put them away. We were on the road by 8:00.

Today Larry drove about 50 miles. We started out by going to Fort Worden Historic State Park, which is located at the far north east corner of the Olympic Peninsula. The drive there was a down a curvy two lane mountain road. The drive was very pretty. At one part there was a bicyclist, he moved as far onto the small shoulder he could and it was still very hard to pass him because of traffic coming the other way and you can't see around the corner. When we got to Port Townsend we had to drive through a long residential area with the speed limit of 25 mph. When we entered the park we saw a beautiful grass field where deer were enjoying grazing. People walked right by them and they didn't run off or look up. We saw the restored Victorian-era Officers homes. Some of them are being used as museums and an information center. The museums and buildings weren't open until 11:00 and it was only 9:30. We wanted to see the Port Wilson Lighthouse. We parked the Minnie and walked through sand to get a closer look of the lighthouse. It was closed up so we couldn't get inside but we walked around the grounds. The buildings around the lighthouse and the lighthouse needed some maintenance. The fort buildings also needed work. We were a little disappointed by the park. We saw a cruise ship in the bay. We walked on the beach back to the Minnie. I wasn't impressed by it. When we got back to the Minnie we drove back through the park to exit. We drove through Port Townsend. It's a cute little town with tourist shops for the cruise ships. We stopped and filled the Minnie at Safeway.

We drove another 30 miles to another small town called Sequim to check out the laundromat. It was busy so we'll return tomorrow. Larry drove to 7Cedars Casino. The casino has an RV/Truck parking lot, you can stay up to three days free. It also has a few free electric sites. The only requirement is for you to sign up for their Totem Rewards Club. This was not a problem because I was going to spend some time in the casino. I don't spend a lot of money gambling but I enjoy it. We found a site and went over to register for the night.

After registering we walked around the casino. It was a very nice casino with a non smoking and smoking area. There were separated and about the same size. They didn't have a self-service beverage area but they did have ladies going around taking cocktail orders. Then we went back to the Minnie and set it up. Then we had a sandwich for lunch.

After lunch I went over to gamble. I was there for a couple of hours and lost $3.00. When I got back I took a nap.

After my nap I made bacon sandwiches for dinner. When dinner was finished I went back to the casino and gambled another two hours and came back breaking even. I played with their money all evening. When I joined the club I had a $5.00 reward. I claimed it and played with it. I was on a machine that paid very well. I was up $55.00 at one time but I ended up giving most of it back. When I say I broke even I started out with $20 and came back with $20.19. I had a super time.

The casino grounds are beautiful with totem poles, flowers, grassy hills and a small fountain. The totem poles are all over the place and are very colorful.

I didn't do too many steps today, 7000. I came in 8th place in my group for the week at 93,330 steps.
