Happy New Year |
Happy New Year to everyone!!! We had a great year that was full of fun, laughter and happiness. I hope everyone had a great year and wish you another great year.
This morning we went to Tropic Star to dance with Joe Saltel and friends. It was an A dance and we had exactly three squares. Usually the morning dances the caller supplies coffee and donuts. Joe usually has apple fritters and cinnamon rolls but this morning we had store bought danishes (Raisin Snails or Cinnamon Horn). We heard that the bakery backed out. They were fresh and tasted good. We had fun dancing with friends and to Joe's calling.
We went over to the J5 clubhouse at 1:00 to celebrate the New Year with our J-Five friends. We had hamburgers with all the trimmings, pork 'n' beans, potato chips, tea, coffee and either an ice cream sandwich or a sundae cone. We went for the sundae cones. The food was good and it was nice to socialize with people.
After lunch we walked around the park for about a half hour. Then we went inside and read for the rest of the day.
In the evening I finished reading a three book series (Gracelin O'Malley, Leaving Ireland and 'Til Morning Light) by Ann Moore. The series were historic novels about the life of Gracelin O'Malley, an immigrant from Ireland in the 1800s. They were very well done at times they made you sad and other times they made you happy. I liked the ending very much. I recommend you to read the series in order to understand the story.
We had a great New Year day!!!
