J-Five RV Park |
On Sundays there is no square dancing anywhere in The Valley. This gives people time to do other things or simply rest a bit. It was another beautiful day, got to 80 and had a nice breeze.
I made pancakes for breakfast. We decided to visit the McAllen Nature Center and walk the grounds. McAllen Nature Center is a 33-acre site for people to enjoy the outdoors. It has 1.6 miles of trails. One goes around a small cactus garden where each cacti has a sign in front of it to identify what cacti it is. Another trail goes around a pond with palm trees. Before we walked the trail we checked in at the office and got a small map. As we hiked we saw a lot of different cacti and other plants. Part of the trails went through pretty trees. It was a nice facility. The trails are very easy to walk. We had a very pleasant walk and the staff was friendly.

After our walk we went to HEB and did some grocery shopping.
In the evening I went over to the club house for movie night. It cost $1.00 to watch the movie. They sold hot dogs for $1.00, chips for $.50 and sodas for $1.00. Five minutes before the movie they had extra hot dogs so they sold them for $.50. I bought a bag of chips, a diet Coke and a hot dog. There were about 30 people. We watched Crazy Rich Asians starring Constance Wu and Henry Golding. It's a romantic comedy about a native New Yorker, Rachel Chu who goes to Singapore to meet her boyfriend, Nick Young's family. It was a good movie. I had a great time.
