Having fun with friends |
Saturday February 3, 2018
Wow,
we had a super day. We started out slow cooking some pork in the crock
pot. It took about four hours, then I pulled it apart and added barbecue
sauce to it. We put the pork on tortillas and had it for lunch.
Every
year in February the DBD group from Braircliff invites Jerry Story to
call a couple of days of dancing during the week, this year he had to
cancel out. When Johnny Preston was in town a few months ago he said he
would fill in for Jerry but they would have to change the days and this
weekend were the days they agreed to.
The
schedule for today was 3:00 to 5:00 dance, 5:00 to 7:00 dinner and 7:00
to 9:00 dance. After each dance there was an A tip. We had five squares
for the DBD dances. The first A tip had three squares and the second A
tip had two squares. It was nice to visit with friends from Dallas and
Houston. We hadn't been to Allemande Hall in a long time so it was great
to see our friends from TIPS. We had a super time dancing to Johnny.

Johnny Preston |
We started the day off by going back to Allemande Hall to continue our weekend of dancing. The schedule for today was dancing at 9:00 to 11:00, lunch 11:00 to 1:00 and dancing at 1:00 to 3:00.
On the way to the dance we drove in fog and some places the fog was very thick. When we got to Moody we stopped at Best Donuts and bought a couple of donuts for breakfast. We arrived at the hall a half hour early so we visited with friends that were already there. We had four squares plus an extra man in the morning. Johnny walked us through a few moves in positions we're not use to being in, which made it challenging and fun. After the dance we stayed and danced the A tip with a group from Dallas. We had a great time dancing in the morning.

In the evening we watched YouTube videos and an Amazon movie called Mona Lisa Smiles. It was a 2003 movie starring Julia Roberts as a free-thinking art professor at a conservative 1950s Wellesley girls school. It was a good movie. We had an outstanding weekend of dancing to Johnny Preston and with friends.
