Wednesday 3-18-26 St. Patrick's Day Dances, Trip Preparation & More

Cold Windy Day

Our day started out a little chilly with the morning temperature of 41 degrees and got up to 75 degrees with a wind out of the north. By the end of the day it was beautiful with blue skies. It was very comfortable outside.

We spent the day getting ready for our spring trip, which will begin on Friday. We're not sure where we're going, it all depends on the high temperatures.

I started the day out by loading up the Minnie with the clothes were taking with us. Then I loaded the dry stuff into the cabinet and the refrigerator and freezer with food. I worked on this for a couple of hours.

Larry worked on getting the motorcycle ready for the adventure. First I helped him loaded the carrier on the back of the Minnie. Then Larry washed the carrier, the motorcycle cover and the motorcycle itself. Then he replaced the spark plug. Afterwards he took it for a ride. It didn't run correctly he put the old one back in it. It runs great now.

I attended three virtual St. Patrick's Day square dances. First was Di Green and Terry McCann's weekly plus at 11:00 for an hour. Di called the whole dance and Terry danced with her. She called five tips to 13 dancers. She continued working on the new calls, which were Scoot and Dodge, Quarter Thru (right and left), Partner Hinge, Partner Tag and Pass the Sea. She worked shopped Coordinate and Spin Chain The Gears. A few of the dancers wore green for St. Patrick's Day or other Irish clothes. Di and Terry wore their square dancing tee-shirts, which were green and I wore a green blouse, belly dancer belt (green) and a green hat. The dancers were from the United Kingdom, United States, Canada and France. I had a great time.

Second was Ett McAtee's weekly C1 at 1:00 for an hour. She didn't wear green but her background was Irish and some dancers wore green and I wore what I wore for Di's dance. She called four tips to 11 dancers from Canada, United States, Germany and Netherlands. In between tips we visited with each other. During one of the breaks Jane from Canada showed some Easter bunnies candy dish, that she made for a fun raising for cancer. They are very cute. I had a fun hour dancing to Ett and with friends.

Third was Dave Eno's weekly C1/A2 at 6:00 for an hour and a half. Karin Rabe and Greg Moore helped Dave call the dance. It was also a St. Patrick's Day dance. They called three tips of C1 to 8 dancers, three tips of A2 to 10 dancers and in between the A2 tips we did a couple of trivia questions. The dancers were from Australia, Canada and the United States. I had a great evening of dancing with friends.

When I wasn't dancing I worked out and played games.

I worked out for a half hour with the Wii Fit and 15 minutes with the Synth Riders.

The Wii Fit workout consist of two exercises from the Aerobic menu, three exercises from the Training Plus menu, three exercises from the Strength Training menu and three exercises from Yoga menu. The Aerobic exercises were Rhythm Boxing Advance (8 minutes) and Basic Run Long Distance (2 minutes). The Training Plus exercises were Obstacle Course (3 minutes), Table Tilt Plus (4 minutes) and Perfect 10 (3 minutes). The Strength Training exercises were Single-Leg Extension (2 minutes), Single-Leg Twist (1 minute) and Sideways Legs Lift (1 minute). The Yoga exercise were Warrior (2 Minutes), Standing Knee (2 Minutes) and Palm Tree (2 minutes). I had a great workout.

I worked out with the Synth Riders for 15 minutes with two songs twice, which were Go! and Riot. I didn't earn any outstanding scores or new high score but had fun.

I played one game of Monster Manor on the Bounce Arcade. I earned a bronze trophy by being a banister buster, awoken the manor once and stunned the manor. I played the game for 15 minutes.

I played six games of pinball. I played three games on the mini cabinet, which were Pirate's Life, Tales of the Arabian Nights and The Godfather. While playing The Godfather I became high score #1. I played three games on the big cabinet, which were Godzilla, Star Trek the Next Generation and World Joker Poker. While playing Godzilla I became high score #1. I had a fun time playing pinball.

I played the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Pyramid Mini of 5 games. It took me 13 minutes and 20 seconds, which put me in 26th place in my group. I played Angry Birds Friends and Angry Birds 2.

After Dave's dance we watched a movie off of Hoopla called Jules. It was a cute movie about Milton Robinson, a 79-year-old widower, who befriends an alien from outer space. His daughter thinks it's further proof of his senility. Two elderly women Sandy and Joyce from the town find out that he isn't senile and the alien is real. It starred Ben Kingsley as Milton Robinson, Harriet Sansom Harris as Sandy, Jane Curtin as Joyce and Jade Quon as Jules (the alien). After Larry went to bed I watched the X-Files movie from our collection. I ended up doing 4,000 steps.
