Thursday 11-7-24 Mowing, Projects, Cleaning Oven & More

 

Busy doing this and that

We had a great day of doing this and that. We had a small rain shower in the later afternoon. It stayed around through the evening. The high was in the mid 70's.

I started the day by cleaning the kitchen oven. It was filthy. I believe I have only cleaned it once in the past 11 years, we bought it when we built the house. I sprayed it with an oven cleaner. I had to wait two hours to wipe the foam off the oven. Once I had it wiped down I decided to do it a second time because I wasn't totally satisfied. It came out a little cleaner the second time around. I'll wait another day and try cleaning it again. I have to admit it's a lot cleaner.

While I was waiting for the oven cleaner to do it's thing I went out and mowed the frontyard and the side of the house. The rest of the backyard didn't need to be mowed. This probably will be the last mowing for the year. It was nice and cool so I didn't sweat much.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 6 games (3 Spider and 3 Tri Peaks). It took me 15 minutes and 59 seconds, which put me in 13th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

Larry continued working on his new computer. He was having a problem with stuttering in VR. After trying lots of things he finally got it fixed. He is happy. He also installed a second drive and backed the primary drive up to it.

We went to town to do a few errands. First stop was Walmart to get some light bulbs. Next stop was The Home Depot. We needed to replace a couple of our buckets, two have cracked and one the handle broke. We found three different sizes of buckets, a couple of them have markings on them so you can see how much liquid you put in. We stopped by the UPS Store and picked up our mail.

We watched the YouTube videos we follow and other technology videos, that help Larry with his computer project.

I worked on my diamond Paint of the Sea Turtles.

I worked out with the Synth Riders for 45 minutes. 

Afterwards I played pinball. Today I played seven different games. They were Walking Dead (2D) challenge and (VR) Avatar, Metallica, Star Wars, Big Buck Hunter Pro, Guardians of the Galaxy and Game of Thrones. I played Metallica two times, while playing it the second time I entered my initials as Grand Champion. I had a good afternoon of playing pinball.

In the evening we watched Mr. Turner on Amazon. It's a biographical film based on the last 25 years of the life of the artist J.M.W. Turner (1775-1851).  It wasn't too good, it bounced around too much and was hard to follow. When Larry went to bed I watched the Black Panther. Afterwards I started watched a detective series on Acorn called Almost Paradise. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 3rd place in my group.
