Thursday 11-21-24 Doing Errands, Diamond Painting & Games

Busy Day

We had a very beautiful day. It was a little chilly. The morning temperature was 38 degrees and it got up to 68 degrees.

We started the day out doing errands.

Running errands

First was to go to the storage center. Larry tries to take the Minnie for a drive once a month to make sure the generator and the Minnie run well. We hadn't done it in awhile so Larry decided to take for a spin. It started right up and so did the generator. We took the Minnie for a ride and it ran perfect. Then we put it back in storage. Larry put a trickle charger on the Minnie to keep the battery charged.

Next stop was Staples to recycle our dead batteries. There's not many places to recycle batteries. Then we went to CVS in Belton to dispose of some expired prescription and over the counter medications. Not many places to dispose of old medications. Larry went inside, the clerk directed him to a cabinet that you drop them in.

On the way to CVS we stopped by The Home Depot to buy some screws Larry needed them for his mini pinball machine project. They didn't have all the screws he needed. He bought the ones they had and a 3 piece plastic putty spreader for the wood filler.

After going to CVS it was lunchtime so we went to Wendy's. We don't eat out much, we had not been in a Wendy's in years and were surprised to see how high the prices were, some things were probably double what they had been. Larry had read that lots of people are going to full service restaurants to eat instead of fast-food. We can understand why. We shared a Classic Ghost Pepper Ranch Chicken sandwich and an order of fries. The sandwich was ok and the service was great, but $10 for a fast food sandwich seemed a bit much.

After lunch we went to The UPS Store to get our mail. Then we went to Walmart to do out Thanksgiving grocery shopping.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Klondike Mini of 5 games. It took me 13 minutes and 55 seconds, which put me in 31st place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

Before working out on the Synth Riders I asked Larry to set the boundaries for the VR headset. The headset will ask once in awhile because it forgets the boundaries. The boundaries helps you stay in an area to prevent you from banging into objects.

I continued working on the diamond painting of the Tiger.

I worked out on the Synth Riders for 45 minutes.

 Working out

I played six different games of pinball, which were Playboy, Aerosmith, Mustang twice, The Flintstones, Star Trek the Next Generation and Black Rose. While playing Aerosmith I entered my initials as high score #4. I entered my initials in Playboy because I played Mansion Mania but I didn't get a new high score. When I played Black Rose I entered my initials as Grand Champion. I used the Random button to choose the games to play except Playboy because it was the weekly challenge. I play the weekly challenge everyday to try and get a new high score. The Random button is set for three games so I used it twice and both times it chose Mustang, that why I played it twice. I had a great hour playing pinball.

In the evening we continued watching the first season of Elementary. Then I watched Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. I started watching the second season of Hidden on Acorn. It's another detective series. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 1st place in my group.
