Monday 11-14 Doing Errands & Keeping Dry

 

Cold and rainy day

It was a nasty day. It rained and drizzled on and off all day. The temperature stayed in the 50s.

The weather wasn't cooperating so we couldn't work on the pinball project. Instead we went to town and did some errands.

Yesterday when we were visiting Louise she mentioned paying her property taxes and said they had gone down. Larry told her we hadn't received our property taxes bill yet. This morning Larry went on the tax appraisal website and found out how much our taxes were. He printed out a copy. First stop in town was at the Bell County Tax Appraisal office to pay them. They had changed the service a little bit. We entered in what use to be the back door and stood at a sign until the next cashier was available. When they came available the light at their window turned green. It didn't take long, we were in and out within a few minutes. The cashier was very friendly and helpful.

Next stop was Walmart to do our weekly grocery shopping. While there we picked up some picture hangers, black spray paint and grip pads for the pinball machine. Then we went across the street to Dollar Tree to buy some bleach but they didn't have any. Afterwards we went home.

Running errands

After lunch I went and took a nap for a couple of hours. When I got up we went back to town. Best Buy had put our Alexa plugs on sale so Larry ordered a couple of them. They had e-mailed indicating the order was ready. On the way to Best Buy we stopped by another Dollar Tree to for bleach, they were also out. I asked the clerk and he said they would be on the truck this week. They get their deliveries on Wednesday and Friday. We thanked him and left. Then we went to Best Buy. We hadn't been to Best Buy in a long time. After picking up the order we walked around the store.

In the evening I played my games. I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. Then I moved on to the Event: The Hard Road of 16 games. It took me 2 hours, 10 minutes and 6 seconds to complete, which put me in 11th place in my group. I played a some Angry Birds.

We finished watching The English on Amazon. It was a very violent series but turned out to be ok. Then we watched another episode of Doc Martin. Afterwards I finished watching the 7th season of Shetland. I ended up doing 28,000 steps, which put me in 2nd place in my group.
