Friday Closing Day Activities

Be Happy

Today was our last full day at Fun Valley.

In the morning I met up with Betty, Sue and Santa at 8:00 to play Polish horseshoes. The shop was closed but Santa had picked up a set of horseshoes yesterday for us to use. It was very close but Sue and Santa won and advanced to the finals.

The next event was the finals of Miniature Golf. I was Bill's caddie, the caddies job is to distract the opponents by doing anything but touching them or interfering with the ball. Bill didn't win but I had a great time.

Then I went back to the Minnie and read until it was time for lunch. We walked down to the dining hall and had lunch and visited with our friends. After lunch we went back to the Minnie.

After resting for an hour we walked over to the dance hall for the afternoon workshop. Today's workshop was on diamonds and circulations. There were four squares for the workshop.

In the evening we went to the dance, There were six squares and quite a few round dancers. Some people had already left to go home. The theme was Hit Parade where people voted on what their favorite songs are to square dance with. Jerry and Lucy did the same thing  We had a fun night of dancing. After the dance Brad called an A tip. The after party was a ceremony presenting trophies to winners of each activities: men and women horseshoe, pool tournament, men and woman Polish horseshoes, miniature golf and the paddle boat race. They had a poker run all week and whatever is in the pot at the end of the week the winner wins the money. Our friend Jeanne won $62.00. We had a super week at Fun Valley.
