Saturday 1-11-25 Pinball Cabinet, Diamond Painting and Games

We had a super day. It was cold and breezy. The high temperature was 58 degrees. 

Due to the cold and wet weather Larry hadn't worked on the mini pinball cabinet for a few days. It was still too windy to paint the cabinet but he decided to work on a couple of test pieces and put the graphics on the upper part of the cabinet. He needed my help to hold the graphics off the cabinet while he used an applicator to apply the graphic. After doing this he trimmed the edges. Next he took a crafting paint marker to touch up the edges. The installation came out great.

I worked on the Fairy diamond painting.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today was Event: Pyramid Mini of 5 games. It took me 13 minutes and 43 seconds, which put me in 25th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I worked out with my Wii Fit for a half hour, Gold's Gym for a half hour and Synth Riders for a half hour. 

Then I played Monster Manor a couple of times on the Bounce Arcade. I ended up getting a new high score, woke up the manor, stunned the manor and got a bronze trophy.

I played five pinball games, which were Tales of the Arabian Nights, Scooby Doo, Superman and the Justice League, Willy Wonka and The Flintstones.

We watched some YouTube videos. We had a home delivery of our groceries from Walmart.

In the evening we finished watching the third season of Vienna Blood and an episode of Elementary. Afterwards I watched Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 4th place in my group.

Friday 1-10-25 Cold Day, Dancing with Ett, Pizza Night & More

 

It's cold

It's still cold. The high today was 40 degrees. I'm glad we live in Belton because our weather wasn't as bad as in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. We got the rain but not the ice and snow. We didn't do too much today because it was cold.

For the last two days it has been too cold for Larry to work on his mini pinball cabinet so he read. In two days he read two books. I probably would be still reading one of the books because I'm a very slow reader.

I did my Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Free Cell Adventure of 20 games. It took me 1 hour, 52 minutes and 23 seconds, which put me in 14th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds and Friends.

I worked out on my Wii Fit for a half hour and Just Dance for a half hour. I danced to two different programs with Just Dance ( 20 minutes with Just Dance 2019 and 10 minutes with Just Dance 2018). I danced to nine different songs. I did the Synth Riders for a half hour, which was four songs twice.

I did bounce for 45 minutes. I played Pirate's Plunder (three times). I got Jolliest Roger for the first time, where I hit and light up the skull on the pirate's flag this occurred during the second game. I got a silver trophy and a new high score. This occured during the third games. I'm learning more about the game everytime I play it.

I played six games of pinball, which were Elvira Party Monsters, Playboy, Metallica, Scooby Doo, Rambo and Tales of the Arabian Nights. I didn't play that well but I had fun.

Today was pizza night for us. I was going to bake a three meat pizza on the grill, Larry suggested I cook it inside because it was so cold. I turned on the oven when Larry suggested trying the air fryer. We watched a few YouTube videos on cooking frozen pizzas. I turned off the oven and preheated the air fryer. I cooked it for 12 minutes. It tasted good. Next time I probably will cook it directly in the air fryer without a grate and lower temperature because it wasn't cooked completely.

In the evening I attended Ett McAtee's Weekly A2 dance at 6:30 for an hour. She called four tips to 15 participants. The first tip I struggled a bit but it got better as we danced. I had a fun time dancing with friends.

Thursday 1-9-25 Cold Rainy Day, Dentist, Good News & More

Rainy Day

We had cold day, the high was 35 degrees. Rain came in the afternoon and stayed through the evening. 

We had great news today concerning Joe Saltel. He called a Plus dance yesterday in the Rio Grande Valley at Tropic Star. He had a great turn out. He is still struggling with his health after a fall he had six months ago.

We started the day out by going to the dentist. It was time for our six month checkup and cleaning. While there Larry had a cavity filled, it was a little one. As we were checking out we set up an appointment for next Wednesday for me to get a tooth pulled. I have been putting this off for a few years but now the tooth is bugging me. The cavity is too bad to fill. I decided to get an implant done. It's going to be a long process. I go in on Thursday to get the tooth out, three months later I'll get a bone graft and implant put in and another three month I'll get the crown down.

Yesterday, I played Monster Manor and Gunpowder Gulch three times. While playing Monster Manor I got a bronze trophy and a got a bronze trophy when playing Gunpowder Gulch. When playing Monster Manor I fought the ghosts a few times and tried to stun the manor. When playing Pirate's Gulch I fought my enemies three different times and failed.Today I played Asteroid Outpost once. I played it for a half hour and got a new high score and a silver trophy. I mined the asteroids five different times and failed, this was exciting.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 6 games (3 Klondike and 3 Spider). It took me 24 minutes and 27 seconds, which put me in 32nd place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I played four games of pinball. They were Tales of the Arabian Nights, Aerosmith, Godzilla and Metallica. I got a new high score for the weekly challenge of Tales of the Arabian Nights, which was 34,455,290. This moved me from 15th place to 11th place in a group of 41 participants. I entered my initials on the high score board in Aerosmith.

I started working on a new diamond painting called Fairy.

In the evening we started to watch the third season of Vienna Blood on PBS. The new season is going to start in the near future and the last season was in 2020. We wanted to refresh our memory. Then we watched an episode of Elementary. After Larry went to bed I watched The X-Files: I Want To Believe and Twister out of our movies collection. Wednesday 1-8-25 Virtual Dancing Day, Projects, Diamond Painting & More

 

Cold Front

We had another cold day with the high of 40 degrees.

I started the day out by working on The Ice Cream Girl diamond painting. I finished it in a total of two hours. After finishing it I put the Ice Cream Girl in it's frame and put it on the desk. It came out very cute and colorful. I'll start on another painting tomorrow. This one is called a Fairy. It will take much longer. I had fun doing the Fairy diamond painting.

Larry installed a new pinball game, Scooby Doo. He installed it in both 2D and VR. The VR room is outstanding. It has a graveyard, haunted house and the van from the cartoon of Scooby Doo. As you play the game a ghost chases the characters from Scooby Doo. There is a skull hanging from the tree and it moves and it's eyes light up. The van lights turn on while you play. You have to be careful because the VR room can distract you from playing. After Larry installed the game he played it.

Larry also played with a new router that he will use for the mini pinball machine.

I attended three virtual square dances. First was Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly Plus at 10:00 for an hour. The theme of the dance was Holiday. During the dance some of the dancers wore summer hats. Dawn wore a different hat every tip. Di and Terry were butterflies. Di and Terry took turns calling five tips to 12 participants. I had a great time dancing to Di and Terry and with friends.

Second was Ett McAtee's Weekly C1 at 1:00 for an hour. Ett called four tips to 19 participants. We just danced and visited with each other in between tips. I had a fun time dancing with friends.

Third was Dave Eno's Weekly C1/A2 at 6:00 for an hour and a half. Karin Rabe and Greg Moore helped call the dance. The format was three tips of C1, three tips of A2 and two Trivia questions in between the A2 tips. During the C1 tips we had 8 participants and A2 tips had 11 participants. Brian showed up with his wife to dance A2. They hadn't been on Zoom for a long time because they are busy doing this and that on Wednesday evenings. I had a great time dancing with friends and to Karin, Greg and Dave.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: World Tour Mini of 10 games. It took me it took me one hour, 5 minutes and 8 seconds, which put me 21st in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

Tuesday 1-7-25 Day of A2 Dancing & Diamond Painting

 

It's cold. We woke up to 28 degrees and the high of 45 degrees.

I started the day out by finishing my diamond painting of the horse. I started doing the horse 12/21/24 and finished today, it took about 17 days. I'm getting ready to start a new one. It's called Ice Cream Girl. It's a small diamond painting designed for kids but it will be fun to do. It only has nine different colors of diamonds and comes with a frame to put the finished product in. I worked on Ice Cream Girl for a half hour.

We attended two A2 dances. They were Di Green and Terry McCann's virtually and a in person dance at Kay and Bob Kurczewski's house.

The first dance was Di Green and Terry McCann's weekly A2 dance for an hour. We danced four tips because we weren't sure how long it was going to take to get to our next dance. Di and Terry took turns calling the dance to 11 participants. We had a super time. I said good-bye to everyone after the fourth tip and explained why we were leaving early.

The second dance was Kay and Bob's in Liberty Hill, which is 57 miles away. For awhile on Tuesdays we attended a dance in Corsicana for A2 but it's 100 miles away. The drive back and forth was a bit too far. This dance will work out better. Today we were short a dancer or two to make three squares. We had an outstanding afternoon dancing with friends, some we hadn't seen in five years and others were folks we didn't know. The dance was for two hours.

We left for the dance at 11:30 and got home by 4:45. It took us an hour and fifteen minutes to get to the dance.

In the evening we relaxed in front of the television. We watched a movie called Ready Player One. It was a movie about a virtual reality game called the Oasis, the creator dies and left a posthumous challenge to all the Oasis users to find his Easter Egg. It was a good movie. Then I finished watching Everwood. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 4th in my group.
