Monday 12-16-24 C1 Christmas Dance, Pinball Cabinet & Games

Overcast Day

We had an overcast day with the high of 79 degrees.

We started the day off by attending Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly C1 dance at 9:00. Di sent an e-mail to remind the dancers about the dance. In the e-mail she said if you want to dress up for Christmas feel free to do so. Di and Terry had been playing some Christmas music in their dances all month. A lot of the dancers dressed up for Christmas. A couple (Carol and Brian) from the U.K. wore Christmas hats (Brian's hat said Bah-Humbug). Di called five tips to 13 participants. She worked on Triple Boxes, Triple Lines and Triple Waves. When ever the dancers were having problems Di would work on the move. Larry danced four of the tips with me. We had a super time.

Larry spent the day working on his mini pinball cabinet. He moved the cabinet from his workroom to the dining room table. He is working on getting the shaker motor working. Some pinball games use a shaker motor to vibrate the cabinet when some event has been achieved. We run across this fairly frequently when we play real pinball. Larry did not install a shaker motor in our original cabinet but he thought it would be interesting to have it in the new one. Since he has not done this before he has a lot to learn. It requires the motor, wiring, a switch and two special circuit boards that he got from the vendor in France. He got all those pieces working today for the first time. Now he has to figure out the software. The software works with the pinball software to know when to run the shaker motor, for how long and how fast.

He also played quite a few games on the new machine. Both in 2D and VR. This was the first time he has played the machine in VR. He is trying to ensure everything is working correctly and that he is happy with it. Time is running out to make changes. Once he has decided he is satisfied he will have to tear it all apart so he can do the final painting and graphics.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Two Games Tango Mini of 10 games (5 Klondike and 5 Spider). It took me 1 hour, 21 minutes and 54 seconds, which put me in 25th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I worked out with Synth Riders for an hour.

I played Bounce Arcade for an hour. I played Monster Manor (2), Pirate's Plunder (2), Gunpowder Gulch (2) and Asteroid Outpost (2). While played the games I got a bronze metal and new high scores.

I played seven different pinball games. They were Theatre of Magic, Star Trek Next Generation, James Bond 60th Anniversary, Big Buck Hunter Pro, Fast Break, Judge Dredd and Playboy. While playing Theatre of Magic I got a new high score for the weekly challenge of 731,050,930, which put me in 8th place out of 21 participants. I came in high score # 3 in Star Trek Next Generation, high score #4 in Big Buck Hunter Pro and played Mansion Mania in Playboy. I had a great afternoon playing pinball.

I worked on my diamond painting Mandala.

In the evening we finished watching the fifth season of Miss Scarlet and an episode of Elementary. Then I watched Star Trek Into the Darkness and a couple of episodes of Everwood.

I've had a Garmin watch device for years. I joined a weekly step challenge to motivate me to do my steps. I've been in a 100K Challenge for awhile but I have been doing 120K or more a week so now I'm in the 125K Challenge. In order to get my goal I need to do 18K a day. I ended up doing 18,000 steps, which put me in 3rd place in my group.
