Smile and be happy
We had a cold day but it's going to get colder. The weatherman predicts it's going to be in the teens on Sunday morning and in the single digits Monday morning. Along with that we are suppose to get freezing rain. We are suppose to be below freezing for about 48 hours. The morning temperature was 48 degrees and the high was 59 degrees.
I slept in until 8:30. I crawled out of bed and got dressed and had breakfast. Afterwards we went to town to do some grocery shopping before the weather gets too cold. First stop was Walmart on Addams. We picked up most of our groceries. Next we went to Aldi to finish the shopping up. Then we went home.
Grocery shopping
When we backed out of the garage and went to close the door the door opener light started flashing and the door would not close. Larry walked around to see if anything was in the way of the sensors. He couldn't see anything. He manually closed the door. When we got home Larry started working on the garage door opener. He did some trouble shooting to see what the problem was. He narrowed it down to one of the sensors. He got on the internet to see if he could find out how to disable the sensors so that he could make sure that was the problem. Lots of folks have asked this question before but all the answers said not to do it since they are safety devices. He finally remembered having an extra set of sensors, it took him a bit to find them. He had figured out which one he thought was bad. He wired it up temporarily, held it in place and it worked. He hooked the old one back up to double check and was surprised when it now worked. He is not sure why the old sensor started to work but he reinstalled the old sensor. If it stops working again he'll know where the problem is.
I had a dentist appointment to get my crown put on my implant at 1:00 so we went back to town about 12:30. It didn't take long and I didn't have to be numbed up. I was so glad it has been a little over a year since my tooth was removed (1/15/25). It felt a little weird after having nothing there for a year. The crown fit perfect.
Getting crown put on
After getting the crown we went to The UPS Store to pick up our mail.
Our final stop was at the storage center to pick up the Minnie. Since they are predicting an ice storm there is a very real possibility we could lose power. Our last ice storm we were without power for four days. That time we stayed in the Minnie with the generator running powering a couple of electric heaters. The other day we filled it with gasoline and propane. Hopefully we won't need to do that again but we wanted to be prepared.
Doing errands
When we got home I played my games. I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong before going to bed last night. The event was Event: Tri Peaks Mini of 5 games. It took me 11 minutes and 6 seconds, which put me in 14th place in my group. I played Angry Birds Friends and Angry Birds 2.
I played eight games of pinball. I played four games on the mini cabinet, which were Metallica, No Good Goffers!, Pirates Life and Ted & Red Road Show. While playing Pirates Life I became high score #1 and No Good Goffers! I became high score #2. When playing Metallica I became #5 as the most bells rung. I played the other four games on the big cabinet, which were Big Bang Bar, Fish Tales, Time Lord and X-Men. I didn't get a new high score on X-Men but I did get high score #4. I had a good time playing pinball.

In the evening we watched Queen of the Desert on Kanopy. It was a good movie but slow. It starred Nicole Kidman. From Wikipedia: "Gertrude Bell was an English writer, traveler, political officer, administrator, and archaeologist. She spent much of her life exploring and mapping the Middle East, and became highly influential to British imperial policy-making as an Arabist due to her knowledge and contacts built up through extensive travels. During her lifetime, she was highly esteemed and trusted by British officials."
Then I watched the seventh super hero movie, which was The Avengers. While watching television I worked on the Cambridge jigsaw puzzle by Charles Wysocki. I ended up doing 6,500 steps for the day.
