1-5 Shirley's Last Day

Shirley's leaving tomorrow so we relaxed all day. After lunch Flo was pestering us about going somewhere so I took her for a walk around the neighborhood. In the evening we went to Georgetown to square dance with the Sundancers. Shirley went along and danced all the tips except for one. There were enough people there for eight squares.

Shirley Returns to Our House

1-4 Shirley Returns to Our House

Happy Sunday. Today Louise returned Shirley to us after two days of shopping and visiting. When Louise returned Shirley she brought Autumn with her. Before they arrived I started baking another loaf of bread in the bread maker. It's amazing I haven't used the bread maker in a long time and I have now made two loafs one week. I also made a cherry cheese cake for dessert. Autumn and Louise was here for a few hours. Then Louise said good-bye to her mother. Shirley is leaving Tuesday morning and Louise won't see her after today. We had a great visit with them.

In the evening we watched Miss Potter again, Shirley had started to watch it at Louise's house but did not finish it. After the movie we watched four episodes of Story Trek. Story Trek is a show on BYU TV. Todd Hansen and his crew go knocking on doors and ask people if they want to be on television and tell their story. If they agree he listens to their story and puts it on television. The stories that are told are very interesting. We had a super day.

1-3 Pepper Creek Hike and Bike Trail in Temple Texas

Larry told me that I write way too much, so I'm really going to try hard not to write as much.

It was a gorgeous day so we decided to go on a hike. We took Flo with us so we didn't hike long. The trail we hiked was Pepper Creek Hike and Bike Trail. It is 1.20 miles one way but we only hiked .33 mile of it. Flo is 11 years old and she can only hike short distances. We hiked a paved trail that took us by Pepper Creek and over bridge. As we hiked we saw people running and walking. We saw a couple of waterfalls and nice scenery. We also saw a statue in honor of Cindy and Guy children Brook and Jason. It was a very nice hike. Flo barely made it back to the car but she made it. Afterwards we drove around and looked at new homes going up around our area.

In the evening we streamed a movie on Amazon called Miss Potter. It was a 2006 movie starring Renee Zellweger. It was about Beatrix Potter the author and illustrator of the children's book "The Tale of Peter Rabbit". We enjoyed it very much. Then we started watching the second season of Suits.

1-2 Friday Square Dancing with the Killeen Kickers

Had a relaxing day and ended with a bit of square dancing. In the afternoon I decided to workout. I have a Wii Fit and a couple of workout programs (Gold Gym Boxing and Just Dance3). I usually workout for an hour or two but I haven't worked out for awhile. I have been very bad. But I did workout on the Just Dance3 for an hour and half. This program is very fun because you dance to different types of music and follow the moves your workout buddy does. It's like you're not even working out. I even sing along with the song because they're songs I know and the lyrics are on the screen. One of our square dance friends (Louis) called and asked if we were going to Killeen to dance tonight. Larry and I were indeed going so we decided to car pool by meeting at Dorothy's house (who is another square dancing friend). After dinner Larry and I got ready to go square dancing. We usually dress up for dances with outfits and hats but because it was so cold and nasty we decided to dress a bit more simply. I wore red jeans and a blouse and Larry wore dress pants and a gray shirt. Louis usually drives when we carpool but today Larry decided to drive. We had an outstanding time at the dance. There were enough people there to have three squares. I danced every square dancing tip and line dancing tip. Larry sat out one tip to ensure Betsy's fiance, Gary had a chance to dance. Betsy is the Killeen Kickers' caller. Everyone at the dance was surprised when Larry and I showed up without our hats because we're known for our hats. We were glad we went to the Killeen Kickers Hangover Dance. We got home about 11:00, on the way home we stopped and picked up a couple of things at HEB. We had a bowl of ice cream and about a half hour later we called it a night. We had a great day. Have Fun!!!!!!

1-1 First Post of New Year

Getting things started for the new year. How about we start off with a couple of square dance videos from earlier this week?

HAPPY NEW YEAR. Today Larry woke up at 6:50 and got dressed. When he was finishing up I crawled out of bed and got dressed. When I finished Larry was making the bed so I helped him out. When we finished we went into the living room. Louise was sound asleep on the couch but Flo was wide awake. When she saw us she climbed off the couch and said hi to us. Then I let Autumn out of Flo's kennel. After Larry and I said hi to Flo and Autumn I fed them their breakfast. While they we eating Larry got my new blog ready to go and I preheated the oven for cinnamon rolls. When Autumn and Flo finished eating I took them out to do their morning routine. When they finished doing their thing we went back inside. Then I finished baking the cinnamon rolls. When the rolls were finished Louise and Shirley woke up and got dressed. Along with the rolls Larry and I had a glass of chocolate almond milk and Louise and Shirley had a cup of Texas Pecan coffee. Today we hung around the house and visited because it was cold and drizzling all day. Occasionally Louise or I would take Autumn and Flo outside so they could do their thing. For lunch I fixed everyone a chief salad. After lunch we visited. While we were visiting with each other I made ham hock and beans and a cherry cheese cake. About 4:00 Louise decided to go home. She invited Shirley to spend a couple of days with her. So Shirley excepted the invitation. Larry and I didn't mind that Shirley was going to stay at Louise's house for a couple of days because it gives them sometime with each other. When Shirley and Louise hang out together they usually go shopping and I'm not really into going shopping. After Louise, Shirley and Autumn left Larry, Flo and I relaxed for the rest of the day. For dinner Larry and I had leftover pizza and Flo had her food. For dessert we had a bowl of ice cream. Of course I gave Flo a little. We had a relaxing evening watching YouTube videos on Yellowstone National Park. Flo was exhausted so she slept all night. We had a very nice day. LIFE IS GOOD!!!!!!

12-31 New Years Eve

Today Larry and I woke up at 6:50. I made the bed while Larry got dressed. When I finished I joined Larry. When Larry finished getting dressed he woke Autumn and Flo up. They all said their hellos and then Larry fed them their breakfast. After breakfast Larry took them out to do their morning routines. While Larry was outside with Autumn and Flo, his sister Louise continued sleeping on the couch. Flo likes it when Louise sleeps over because then she share her couch with her. Larry, Autumn and Flo weren't inside long when I came out of the bedroom and said hi. I was felling better today so I made biscuits for breakfast. Larry and I had a glass of chocolate almond milk and Louise and Shirley (Larry's mom) had a cup of Texas Pecan coffee with the biscuits. Shirley didn't eat with everyone else because she slept in until 8:30. It was cold and dreary so when we were finished with breakfast we sat around and visited. While everyone was relaxing I decided to make a loaf of bread in our bread maker. I haven't used the bread maker in a long time and Larry thought it would be nice to have a fresh bread while his mom was in town. While the bread maker was doing its thing everyone loaded into the car to go to town. We left Autumn and Flo at home because there wasn't enough room for them. Louise put her dog, Autumn in Flo's kennel. As we were leaving I gave them a snack and said good-bye to them. While we were in town we stopped at Scott and White Hospice Thrift Store. I bought a black western shirt and a pair of brown shoes. Larry bought a yellow pair of pants and three ties (a Christmas tie, multi color one and red, white and blue tie). Shirley bought a little sign and Louise didn't buy anything. Our next stop was HEB because I needed to buy some more coffee and a few other things. While Larry and I went inside Shirley and Louise stayed in the car and visited. When we finished shopping we went back to the house. When I went into the house I was surprise to see Flo laying on the floor next to the kennel. I guess she didn't want Autumn to be lonely. I let Autumn out of the kennel. She was one happy dog to be let free. When everyone else was in the house Flo and Autumn said hi to everyone. After saying our hellos I put everything away. When I finished it was time for lunch. Today lunch was easy because I heated up the leftover enchiladas from yesterday. While everyone ate I gave Autumn and Flo a little snack. After lunch Shirley and Louise did the dishes. I'm getting spoiled because I don't have to do the dishes. When they finished the dishes I decided to give them some more dishes by making Hershey's S'mores for dessert. I can be mean sometimes. While the S'mores were baking the mailman delivered some square dancing hats for Larry and me. While looking at the hats Larry thought it would be fun for Shirley, Louise and me to model all of our square dancing hats. We have a lot of hats! Shirley, Louise and me modeled every single hat that Larry and I own. We had a great time modeling the hats and Larry had fun taking pictures of us. When we finished modeling the hats we visited with each other. After the bread was finished I sliced it. While I was slicing the bread Larry took pictures of me. About 4:00 I mixed up some half and half, heavy whipping cream, Junket ice cream mix and a little of real vanilla and put it in the refrigerator to chill. When it was dinnertime I went outside and barbecued Hatch Chili sausage links. While I was barbecuing Autumn and Flo came outside to keep me company. After the sausages were finished I heated up leftover baked beans and potatoes to go with the sausage links. Then I fed Autumn and Flo Flo's food for their dinner. After everyone was fed Shirley and Louise did the dishes. When they were finished with dishes Shirley and I made a batch of vanilla ice cream. Shirley and I had a ball making the ice cream. When we finished we sat down with Larry and Louise and watched some square dancing videos on YouTube. For our dessert we had an ice cream cone and S'mores bars. We didn't do a lot today but we had a super day. Everyone is tired so I'll say good night. Have Fun!!!!!!!
