Tuesday 6-24-25 A2 Dance to Di and Terry, Television & More

We had a terrific Tuesday.

We usually go to Liberty Hill to dance C1/A2 with friends. This week it was cancelled because of the 74th National Square Dancing Convention. It runs from June 25th to June 28th at the Shreveport Convention Center in Shreveport LA. Instead we attended Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly A2 dance virtually. Di called four tips and Terry called one tip to 8 participants. Larry danced four of the tips with me. Di worked on Cross Trail Thru because Larry and I had problems with it because we kept thinking we were four couples until two couples. We had a great time dancing with friends.

Larry spent the day working on the television project. We decided to take the new television back to Best Buy. We loved everything about the TV except not being able to turn it on and off by voice. Larry spent two days trying to overcome this issue. He did lots of research, talked to the Amazon FireTV folks, called Hisense, experimented with our Harmony remote, he even posted a question on a heavily followed Reddit group, after all of that he is convinced it will not work. We really like the TV and hate to return it but after discussing it this is something we use every day and we would regret not being able to do this.

We had kept all the original packaging. Larry wiped all the information from the TV by resetting it. We removed the TV from the stand, covered it with the original bag and put it in the box along with the accessories. Larry taped the box up. In the next couple of days we will return it.

Next we took the old television out of it's box and put it on our bed. Then Larry took the stand in his workroom, took off the extensions we made and modified the stand to fit the old television. Next he put it on the table and started to reinstall the television. He had a lot of cables and they were a mess. He organized the cables. He took the cables he didn't need and wrapped them up and put them away. Then he connected the sound bar to the television. He got the surrounding sound working. Next he installed the applications he had on it before and got them to work. He connected my Wii Fit to the television, now I can use it again. In trying to get the new television to work with our remote he had reprogrammed it and finally even removed it from Alexa, this required him to do a bunch of stuff to get it back working with the old TV. Everything is now back the way it was. We can again have Alexa turn on the TV, the FireTV, the Caster or my Wii simply by asking her. We would have hated having to use multiple remotes to do this.

While Larry was working on the television and he didn't need me I played games. I played the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 10 games (5 Free Cell and 5 Pyramid). It took me 1 hour, 10 minutes and 26 seconds, which put me in 19th place in my group. I played Angry Birds.

Larry plugged in the pinball cabinet and got it to work. Then he installed the upgrade of Elvira Scared Stiff game. Then he played it to see the changes. They added a spider web in the playfield and skulls on top of the cabinet. It looks great.

My weekly pinball challenge is Fish Tales. We already have the game he just had to change the number of balls from five to three. My first high score was 126,981,340, which will put me in 14th place out of 31 participants. I also played five other games, which were Elvira Scared Stiff, Monster Bash, Iron Man, Mission Impossible and Rambo.
