Fun Day

We had a beautiful day with sunshine and a breeze. Our day started out with a brisk 32 degrees at Hawthorn Bluff Campground in Oklahoma. The high ended up being 64 degrees in Quapaw,OK. It was a little windy so it felt cool all day.

Due to rain we spent six days at Hawthorn Bluff Campground. It was a great place to be held up but it was time to leave. I got up around 7:00 and made apple cinnamon mini waffles for breakfast. Then we got ready to go. We put everything away and secured. We weren't in any hurry because we weren't going too far. We were ready to go around 8:45.

Before leaving Hawthorn Bluff we stopped by a water spicket and filled the water tank in in the Minnie. Most campgrounds have water at each site but at this campground they only had a few around the campground, folks have to share them. This was ok because no one was there. It took awhile to fill the tank because it was almost empty. While Larry filled the tank I took the garbage to the dumpster, which was right there. After getting water we stopped by the dump station and dumped the tanks. By the time we finished dumping the tanks it was 9:15.

Our next destination for the night was 90 miles away, most of it on Historic Route 66. It was a divided highway for 45 miles and then it was a toll road. We only saw a few things that were from the old Route 66. It was a nice drive, we saw cattle and nice green pastures for the cattle. When we got to Vinita we stopped at the Walmart. We were getting low on some items. After shopping I put the items away and made lunch. It was an easy lunch because when we were in Walmart we picked up a few salads. We were surprised they had some because the last Walmart didn't. We shared a chef salad with chips.

After lunch we were back on the road. We had another 45 minutes to go. As soon as we got back on the highway it turned into the toll. A few more miles we were in Missouri. This will be state number three including Texas.

Larry surprised me, he took me to Downstream Casino & Resort. We're staying the night in the parking lot. They have a few RV hook-up spots. It's free for the night if you join their club. We had no problem finding a spot. We parked the Minnie and then walked to the casino to register. It was very easy, we were here last year about the same time so we were already in the system. Larry asked if the gentleman who checked us in last year was still there. The lady said yes and he was in housekeeping now. We remembered the young guy, he was really nice and did magic card tricks.

Once we were registered I stayed and gambled. Larry went back to the Minnie. I was going to be there a couple of hours but ended up only being there an hour because I lost my $20.00 very fast. I called Larry and told him I was on my way back.

When I got back I played my Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: World Tour Mini of 10 games. It took me 1 hour, 40 minutes and 25 seconds, which put me in 11th place in my group. Before doing the Daily Challenges I played 12 games of Solitaire to get extra bonus points for the week. I do this every Monday. It really doesn't mean much but I enjoy doing this. I played some Angry Birds.

I made leftovers for dinner. After dinner I went back to the casino to gamble. I gambled for two hours and came back with $10.00. I ended up giving the casino $30.00, which isn't bad. I had a great time.

I didn't do too many steps. I only did 6,000 steps, which put me in 9th place in my group.

While I gambled Larry did more research on what to do while were in Missouri. We're planning to spend about a month in Missouri. It all depends on the weather.

We still having a great time on our trip even though we had rain. We hope that the rain stays away. Have fun!!!
