Gorgeous Sunny Day |
After spending four nights in Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest we said good-bye.
We started the day off by walking around Boulder Lake Campground, then we finished getting the Minnie ready to leave. On the way out we stopped at the dump station to dump the tanks and fill the fresh water tank.
We were only going 30 miles down the road to Shawano Lake County Park. On the way we stopped at Walmart and did a little grocery shopping. When we finished putting the groceries away I made sandwiches for lunch. After lunch we went to Shawano Lake County Park.
When we got there Larry checked in and got a site. When we backed into our assigned spot we found that the power box was so far away we didn't have enough cord to reach it, back to the office we went. The park is all but empty so there were lots of spots to choose from but for some strange reason the power boxes were all a long way from the sites. We moved to a new site but we still had to use an extension cord to reach the power. Once we were setup and everything was charging Larry worked with our Kindles to make sure we each had all of our books downloaded. Whenever Larry finishes a book he writes a short review on Goodreads, this helps him keep track of what books he has read and what he thought about them, he had three reviews to catch up on. Camping for four days without power or a cell signal is fun but in today's times it is also limiting. We really need internet access to discover where we want to go next.
For dinner I barbecued hamburgers. After dinner we walked around the park. It is a very nice park with a nice size lake. It has a playground, wooden swings that looks over the lake, restrooms with running water and showers and a couple of teepees to rent. We visited for a bit with the gentleman who arrived in the site next to us.
