Cold, wet and windy day |
It rained all night and into the morning, it was also cold so we ran the Wave 3 heater all night. Around 8:30 the rain had stopped so we got ready to go. When we were ready Larry went outside to get into the driver's seat and it started raining again, we decided to wait a bit longer. Yesterday, the weather forecast indicated the rain was going to be gone by noon. We ended up waiting until about 1:00 for the rain to stop and the roads to dry a bit.
The wind was terrible which made driving the Minnie a bit more challenging than normal. We had hoped to visit Grand Portage National Monument but we decided to wait another day. We only drove about 25 miles and are camped less than a mile from the Canadian border. Ryden's Gas Station has five RV sites with electrical power and water for $10 a night, great deal. Once again there is no cell service but Ryden's has WIFI. It is simply too cold and windy to do anything outside so we are sitting comfortably and warmly inside reading. The sun came out at 5:30 which felt great coming through the windows.
About sundown a beautiful red fox walked quickly past, I did not have time to get a picture, a few minutes later he walked past us again going the other direction. This fox was larger, fluffier and much more red than the ones we see at home. We have a couple that live somewhere behind the house that we see every once in awhile.
Suppose to be down in the 40's tonight but warm up a bit tomorrow, hopefully the wind will go away.
