Sunday 5-21-23 Yardwork, New Weekly Challenge & Other Games

 

Awesome Sunday

We had an awesome day of doing this and that.

Larry started the day installing my new weekly pinball challenge, this weeks game is Medieval Madness. These games always require a certain amount of configuration and tweaking to get them running correctly. Once he had it working to his satisfaction he played a couple of games. Then I played it awhile. I ended up with a high score of 8,778,620 while Larry's high score was 32,827,030. Guess I will have to practice a bit to get ahead of him.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. I did the event, which was Event: Free Cell Mini of 10 games. It took me 47 minutes and 37 seconds, which put me in 20th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds and Friends.

After playing pinball Larry went outside, he fertilized the yards, treated for bugs and trimmed some low hanging branches from our tree in the front.

While Larry was doing the yardwork projects I played games. I played five games on the pinball machine. One was the weekly challenge. The other four were the pinball games we had played on our trip (Monster Bash, Godzilla, Creature From the Black Lagoon and Aerosmith). Then I moved over to the arcade machine, where I played three fruit games (Popeye, Play It Again and Pinball Wizard) and two arcade games (Moon Presta and Moon Patrol).

After playing games I decided put a jigsaw puzzle together. I hadn't done one in a long time. The puzzle I started is York, it has 1500 pieces. It's going to take awhile because there's a lot of the same color.

In the evening we watched the movie Wonder Woman from our collection. It is a really good action flick. Then I started to watch the sixth season of Endeavor. I did 11,000 steps.

 

Saturday 5-20-23 Brother Do's & More

We started the day out by going to Round Rock to visit Louise and Alice. While there Larry did some projects Louise needed done.

First up was to trim a tree in her backyard. A recent storm broke a branch high up in a tree along her fence line. It was too far up to reach with a pole saw but it was hanging down far enough that Larry could grab it, by twisting and pulling it came right off. Then we all worked to cut it up into smaller pieces so Louise could dispose of it in the garbage. Her neighbor has just gotten a young goat. It was very friendly and came to the fence. It talked to us and let us pet him. I fed him some of the leaves. He seemed to like them.

Louise bought some new blinds for her front windows. One of the old blinds had broken so to keep them matching she bought two. Larry had to remove the old ones and install the new ones, as always with these things it was a bit more difficult then the box made it out to be. The instructions were also lacking but Larry figured it out and got them installed. These are the newer style of mini blinds that do not have a cord to raise and lower them. You simply pull them down and push them up. They seem to work OK. Not sure how well they would work for windows that reach almost to the floor.

Next up was her cell phone. The provider of our service is upgrading and everyone must switch to the new service which means getting a new sim card and switching to the new service. Some people were having problems when they upgraded. Larry had upgraded our phone awhile back and didn't have any problems. When he put Louise's new sim card in her phone it worked perfect.

While Larry did the projects I finished putting her jigsaw puzzle together and played with Alice.

When the projects were done we had a Papa Murphy's pizza for lunch. For snacks and dessert Louise had made brownies and sugar cookies. Lunch was delicious.

After lunch we visited a little bit and then said our good-byes. We had a super visit.

On the way home I napped a little bit. When we got home it was about 2:00.

I spent the rest of the afternoon playing games. I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today was Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 10 games (5 spiders and 5 pyramid). It took me 1 hour, 6 minutes and 17 seconds, which put me in 11th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

Then I played three pinball games (Super Mario Bros., Great Houdini and Guardians of the Galaxy) on the pinball cabinet. I didn't bump Larry out of the Grand Champion place but I had a super game. Then I played three pinball games (Iron Man, Pirates of the Caribbean and Rock 'n' Roll Diner) and one fruit game (The Lord of the Rings) on the arcade cabinet.

In the evening we finished watching the second season of Dalgliesh on Acorn. I finished watching the fifth season of Endeavor. I did 10,500 steps.

Friday 5-19-23 Errands, Reading, Dancing & Games

 

Happy Friday

We had a great day. The low was 66 degrees and got to 92 degrees.

We started the day off by going to town. Larry woke me up around 8:30. I got dressed and then we went town. 

Yesterday, we had a home delivery from Walmart. I didn't order meats because I wanted to go to HEB and choose what we wanted, so our first stop was HEB. Next we went across the street to the UPS Store to pick up our mail. Last stop was Walmart to buy a few things we needed. On the way home we stopped at Jack 'n' Jill Donuts for breakfast.

Once at home I put everything away. Then I finished reading Sarah's Quilt by Nancy E. Turner. It was a great book, Nancy is a very good writer. 

Then I played my games. I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today was Event: Klondike Mini of 10 games. It took me 20 minutes and 17 seconds to complete, which put me in 7th place in my group. Then I moved onto Angry Birds.

On pinball I have been the Grand Champion on Guardians of the Galaxy for months but today Larry bested me so he teased me a bit. I tried to retake the crown but it will have to be another day.

I played games on the pinball machine and arcade machine. On the pinball machine I played (Guardians of the Galaxy, Areosmith and Super Mario Bros). On the arcade machine I played three pinball games (Cactus Canyon, Junk Yard and Dolly Parton) and three fruit games (Jackpot Bars, Jolly Taverner and Lotty Time). I played Super Mario Bros. and didn't get a new high score but had fun.

For dinner I did something different. On Fridays I use to have frozen pizza, I have kind of gotten away from that but today I decided to cook one on the grill. It came out very good. Cooking it on the grill really changes the flavor.

In the evening I attended Ett McAtee's Weekly A2 dance at 6:30 for an hour and fifteen minutes. Ett called five tips to 15 participants. She worked on remake. I had a super time.

After the dance we started watching the second season of Dalgliesh on Acorn. It's a defective movie. Then we watched some YouTube music videos. I continued watching the fifth season of Endeavor. I only did 10,500 steps because my right foot is swollen. 

 

Thursday 5-18-23 Laid Back Day

I started the day off by playing games. I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today was Event: Medium Mayhem of 27 games. It took me 1 hour, 24 minutes and 22 seconds, which put me in 14th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds and Friends.

While we were on vacation we stopped at a few pinball places, one of them had a Aerosmith table that we really liked. Larry found the same table in a virtual version so today he decided to download and install it. He spent most of the day working on the game trying to get it to work correctly. There are a number of bugs and lots of people have had trouble with the game. Larry was able to improve things but he was not able to fix all of them. It is too bad because it is quite a nice table and fun to play. Maybe the developer will get around to fixing the problems. Larry and I both played it a bit and had fun. Then I played a few games of Super Mario Bros. I didn't get a new high score but had fun.

We watched YouTube videos and got all caught up on them. We watched some music videos.

In the evening we watched a movie on Freevee called The Butler. It was based on the novel and was very good. Then I finished watching the fourth season of Endeavor and started the fifth season. I ended up doing 20,000 steps.

Wednesday 5-17-23 Dance Day & Playing Games

 

Having fun with friends

I had a great day of dancing and playing games.

I attended three virtual dances. First was Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly Plus at 10:00 for an hour and fifteen minutes. Di and Terry took turns calling five tips to 12 participants. Di and Terry helped us through out the dance by cueing and dancing with us. I had a great time dancing to Di and Terry and with friends.

Second was Ett McAtee's Weekly C1 Workshop at 1:00 for an hour and fifteen minutes. Ett called five tips to 17 participants. When we had problems with a sequence Ett would call it again and help us through the moves by cueing. I had fun.

Third was Dave Eno's Weekly C1/A2 at 6:30 for two hours. Karin Rabe and Greg Moore helped him call the dance. The format was two tip of C1 to 8 participants, four tips of A2 to 9 participants and one tip of C1 to 7 participants. This week Greg and Karin called one of the C1 tips and did a super job. Karin and Greg took turns calling two tips of A2, Dave called one tip of A2 and the last tip all three callers took turns calling. In between the A2 tips we did some trivia. I had fun evening dancing to Karin, Greg and Dave and with friends.

I played the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today was Event: World Tour Mini of 10 games. It took me 45 minutes and 35 seconds to complete, which put me in 19th place in my group. I played Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds and Friends.

In the afternoon I played pinball on the pinball cabinet. I did the weekly challenge of Super Mario Bros. and got a new high score of 45,268,330. Then I played Godzilla and Junk Yard. Larry played some pinball.

While I danced Larry played some pinball games on the arcade cabinet and got a new high score on a couple of games, this challenges me to get a new high score. After playing on the pinball machine I moved over to the arcade machine. I didn't get a new high score but had fun trying. The games I played on the machine were four pinball games (Batman, Spiderman, The Six Million Dollar Man and Bugs Bunny Birthday Bash) and two fruit games (Carry on Joker and Cake Walk).

After the last dance we watched an episode of Poirot. When Larry went to bed I watched a couple of episodes of Endeavor. I ended up doing 23,000 steps. 

 

Tuesday 5-16-23 Dancing, Games & Having Fun

Just having fun

We had a super day of having fun.

I started the day out by attending Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly A2 dance at 10:00 for an hour. Di called the dance of 5 tips to 14 participants. She worked on Left Chain Reaction, Motivate and other moves we had problems with. Di did a super job of calling. I had a great time dancing to Di and Terry and friends.

I played my Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. Then I moved onto the event, which was Event: Free Cell Adventure of 20 games. It took me 1 hour, 34 minutes and 17 seconds, which put me in 5th place in my group. Then I played some Angry Birds.

In the afternoon on the pinball cabinet I played the weekly challenge Super Mario Bros. and got a new high score of 42,614,800. I also played Playboy, Johnny Cash, Sexy Girls, Rock 'n' Roll Diner and Godzilla. Larry downloaded Godzilla and loaded it on the cabinet today. It is a fun game and has a lot of action. Larry and I both played it and had a great time.

Larry and I played some games on the arcade cabinet. I played three poker games (High Roller, Vegas Poker and Big 40 Poker), three pinball games (Monster Bash, Junk Yard and Cactus Canyon), two arcade games (Water Ski and Zoo Keeper) and one fruit game Casino Crazy. The arcade games were hard.

In the evening we finished watching Carnival Row. Then we watched an episode of Poirot. Then I finished watching the third season of Endeavour and started the fourth season. I ended up doing 26,000 steps.
