Mardi Gras Weekend in Tool Texas |
Friday 3-2-18
I woke up early: 7:15 instead of 8:00 because I couldn't sleep any longer. This was a big surprise to Larry. After breakfast I finished loading the Minnie and by 9:00 we were on the road to Tool.
We weren't in any hurry considering the first dance wasn't until 7:30 in the evening. We arrived at Promenade Hall at 1:00. The drive was very nice. The closer we got the greener everything became and there was water standing in the ditches. As we pulled in a camping spot we noticed that our friends from Colorado, Mike and Sharon were already here, we setup and were visiting with them when Grace and Dan showed up. We visited for a couple hours.
The rest of the afternoon Larry read and I played Sudoku.
This year the Log Cabin Swingers invited Mike Bramlett from the Dallas area, Wade Driver from the Houston area and Brad Caldwell from Georgetown to call to celebrate Mardi Gras for the weekend. They also invited Lucy and Jerry Pates to cue the round dancing. Tonight's dance was called Crazy T Shirt. There were enough people to make seven squares and there were eight couples round dancing. We danced with people we hadn't seen for awhile. The dance went really well, we danced a lot more than usual consider they only had one round dance between the square dancing tips instead of two. We had a great time.

We usually don't stay for the after party but tonight we did because Kathy and Leonard asked us to. We enjoyed the after party, it gave us a chance to visit with friends. We had a great evening.
