Saturday 5-24-25 Plus U, Car Show, Terp's Comics & More

Beautiful Day

We had a beautiful day with a lot of sunshine. The high was 96 degrees. There was a breeze, that kept it bearable.

Larry started the day working on his jukebox project. He took the jukebox apart and started preparing it for painting.

I played games. I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Free Cell Adventure of 20 games. It took me 2 hours, 47 minutes and 37 seconds, which put me in 12th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

At 10:30 we went town.

First stop was the TEF Car Show at the Temple High School. The show was from 10:00 to 2:00. There were a lot of beautiful vehicles: Classic, Modern Muscle, Low Riders, Imports, Trucks and Motorcycles. The car show took place in the parking lot of the high school. We walked around for about 45 minutes. They also had food vendors. It was starting to get hot. Below are some of the vehicles we saw.

Second was a comic book swap meet at Terp's Toys and Comics in Temple. It wasn't a big swap meet but it was worth going because it was the first time we've been at a comics store. The owner and a worker were very friendly and helpful. He had a lot of comic books and clocks made out of LP records. The owner's friend makes they for him using a lazer. They were very cool. He had a huge picture on the back wall with different characters from the comics in it. They was a little boy about three looking at it and the owner asked him to locate some characters on the wall. He located the ones he knew. The store was well organized.

After attending the events we stopped by the UPS Store to get our mail. Then we went to Walmart to pick up a few items we were getting low on and paint for the jukebox. While there we picked up a chicken for lunch. Larry was going to take me out for lunch but I thought it was easier just to get a chicken. Then we went home.

When we got home I continued playing my Solitaire Event. Larry went back on working the jukebox.

I played three games of pinball, which were Mustang, World Joker Poker and Guardians of the Galaxy. When playing Mustang and World Joker Poker I matched so I played them two times. The second game of both games was better than the first. While I played Guardians of the Galaxy I entered my initials as high score #2.

In the afternoon we received an e-mail from Paula Ferguson (Brad Caldwell's wife), reminding folks that tonight at 7:00 there was a Plus U dance in Georgetown.

We attended the dance. It was for two hours. Brad called eight tips to four squares of dancers plus one extra dancer. We had a super time dancing to Brad and with friends.

We got home a little before 10:00. Larry checked his e-mail and then went to bed. I watched a movie called R.I.P.D. It was a good movie. It reminded me of Men in Black. Afterwards I watched Star Trek Into Darkness. I ended up doing 13,000 steps.
