We woke up to 47 degrees and sunshine. It was a little chilly but it was nice to see the sun. We had been at the Old Fort State Park for three nights.
Before leaving we walked over to the restrooms and took a shower. Larry filled the water tank and I got the Minnie ready to go. Once we were ready we went to the dump station, we had to a wait a few minutes considering there were a couple more people doing the same thing.
First stop on our agenda was the George A. Dickel Distillery. George Dickel is one of the two legal Tennessee distilleries that remain in operation since the late 1860's. The tour was about an hour long and our tour guide did an outstanding job. She explained how George Dickel Whiskey was made. We got the opportunity to see the equipment while they were making wiskey. After the tour we got a chance to taste four different whiskeys (White Corn, Dickel #8, Dickel #12 and Hand Selected Barrel). It was a great tour.

After the tour we had lunch in the Minnie, then we continued on our adventure. The next stop was Lookout Mountain, it is a few miles south of Chattanooga. We stopped at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park. We didn't know it was a National Military Park until we got there. Our National Park pass had expired so we purchased a new one for $80.00. It was a great site to visit. The entrance is very dramatic. There are walking trails throughout the grounds with signs that talked about the history of the Civil War battles that were fought there, there is a museum but it was closed today. When you get to the top of the mountain you get a magnificent view of the city and surrounding area. It's a beautiful site.
