Friday 6-13-25 Friday the 13th, Projects, Games & Dancing

Happy Friday the 13th

It's Friday the 13th are you superstitious? I'm not.

We had a hot humid day with the high of 93 degrees and humidity of 53% at 3:30 pm.

High temperature at 3:30

We started the day out by going to town, Larry needed some items from The Home Depot, he is building and modifying shelving in his workroom. Before going to The Home Depot we stopped by the storage center to take the Minnie for a ride. Larry tries to take the Minnie for a short ride every month, it helps keep it running correctly and exercises the generator. Everything started right up and worked great.

Larry spent most of the day working on the shelves in his workroom. He wanted to make shelves for his jukeboxes. First he decided how he wanted to modify the existing shelves and where to put additional shelves he needed. The existing shelves are above his workbench. The shelves hold screws, washers, spray cleaners, alcohol and other items he uses on projects. He removed the items from the existing shelves. Then he screwed an upright bracket to the wall and put a few brackets in it. Next he lowered one of the shelves so it was even with another one. He cut a piece of wood to hold the two boards together. Once the shelves were hanging he started putting his stuff back on the shelves. He has a ways to go to finish. He decided he wanted shorter brackets for the new shelves so tomorrow we'll go back to town to buy shorter ones.

Workroom project begins

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 10 games (5 Klondike and 5 Free Cell). It took me 53 minutes and 41 seconds, which put me in 16th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I worked out with Synth Riders for a half hour and I did my Jazz routine for fifteen minutes.

Working Out

I played two games of Monster Manor in Bounce Arcade. I didn't play that well but the first  game was the best. I earned a bronze trophy. I woke the manor and tried to stun the manor and failed.

I played four games of pinball, which were Big Bang Bar, Big Lebowski, Cirqus Voltaire and World Cup Soccer. I became Grand Champion in World Cup Soccer.

I worked on my diamond painting of a tree.

I attended Ett McAtee's Weekly A2 at 6:30 for an hour. Ett has been traveling for the last month so we haven't danced to her for over a month. She called four tips to 10 participants. During the dance she mentioned that Gail was going to the convention in San Francisco and it was her first time to this convention. I told her I was going to be there with Larry for the first time. She was very excited to hear Gail, Larry and I were going to be there. She sent us a link on how the convention is run. We had a small group of dancers but had a great time. It was nice to see Ett again.

After the dance we watched YouTube videos. When Larry went to bed I watched the fourth Jason Bourne movie, which was Jason Bourne. It was out of our movies collection. I ended up doing 13,500 steps.

During the day we didn't see any deer. I guess it's because it was hot and humid. But I did see them in the security camera at 11:45 pm. It was a doe and a fawn, they were grazing.

Thursday 6-12-25 Busy Day of Doing This and That

Busy doing this and that

The day started out with rain in morning. When I went to bed last night around 1:00 am a front came through. It started with a lot of thunder and lightening. Then the rain came. It was overcast most of the day. The high was 82 degrees.

Rainy morning

When the rain went away the deer came through the backyard. First a doe and fawn came through. They went to Jason's backyard and did a little grazing. The fawn laid down in the yard and mom walked away, this was about 9:00. A couple of hours later three does showed up and the fawn got up. It thought one of them was it's mom but it wasn't. Then they wandered off through the gate to the neighbor's yard and the Corps of Engineers property. The fawn looked like it was confused because mom hadn't come yet. He went back into Jason's yard and laid down. Mom finally showed up after lunch. He hung around a little while longer then wandered off in the trees. They didn't come back.

While the fawn was waiting for it's mom a hawk, a squirrel and a hummingbird showed up. We had a busy day watching the wild life. I enjoy watching the deer on the security cameras and out the back window.

Larry spent the day doing small projects. He worked on the movies he downloaded. He worked on the septic system. He checked the amount of bleach it went through. It was less than the other day but still more than before. He made a video of the Rowe jukebox and put on the digital jukebox builders website.

Doing projects

I played games. I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Medium Mayhem of 27 games. It took me 1 hour and 34 minutes, which put me in 15th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I continued working on my diamond painting of the tree.

I worked out on the Wii Fit for a half hour and Synth Riders for a half hour. I also did a jazz routine for fifteen minutes. I hadn't done this routine in a very long time.

Working out

I played one game of Pirate's Plunder on Bounce Arcade. I earned a silver trophy, defeated my enemies three times, earned an extra ball and earned three Jolly Rogers.

I played seven games of pinball. They were Playboy, Medieval Madness, Attack From Mars, Elvira Scared Stiff, Mustang, Goldeneye and Cirqus Voltaire. While playing Mustang I became high score #3.

Wednesday 6-11-25 Two Dances, Dentist Appointment, Projects & More

Rainy Overcast Day

We had a nice day with overcast skies. We were awoken about 5:30 am when the power had a few surges because of the weather. It rained through out the morning but nothing severe.

The hawk came to visit about 8:30 this morning, he was doing a little hunting. The hummingbird visited us through out the day.

Larry continued doing his projects. He continued working on downloading movies. He bought the updated version of the program he uses on the downloading.

His next project was working on the septic system. He installed the new filter a few days ago. He has been keeping an eye on how much bleach the system uses. Every since we have lived here he has filled the system on the 1st of the month, by doing thing he knows that we normally use 1.5 gallons of bleach per month. Now it's going through a gallon each time it runs. Today he installed an adjustable flow valve, he will probably have to adjust it a few times to get the amount of bleach correct. He'll continue watching the system.

I did laundry in between dancing and doing other things.

I attended two virtual dances. First was Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly Plus at 10:00 am for an hour. Terry and Di took turns calling five tips to 11 participants. Today we did a lot of diamond moves. The dancers were having problems with the call Follow Your Neighbor from a T-Bone formation, that looked like a diamond. Di walked us through the move multiple times before moving on. I had a super time dancing to Terry and Di and with friends.

Second was Dave Eno's Weekly C1/A2 at 6:00 for an hour and a half. Karin Rabe and Greg Moore helped call the dance. The format was 3 tips of C1with 10 participants, 3 tips of A2 with 13 participants and two trivia questions in between the A2 tips. I had a very nice evening dancing to Dave, Karin and Greg and with friends. It was nice to see Tom from Richardson, TX. since we hadn't seen him in awhile.

In between the two dances Larry took me to the dentist for my appointment at 2:00. I was a little disappointed because I thought I was getting my implant put in. But they just did a scan and I have to go back for the implant in August. I was in and out of the appointment within ten minutes.

When I got home from the dentist I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Spider Mini of 5 games. It took me 18 minutes and 37 seconds, which put me in 29th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I also played some pinball. I played seven games, which were Cirqus Voltaire, The Lord of the Rings, Dark Chaos, Superman and the Justice League, Elvira and the Party Monsters, Transformers and Iron Man. While playing Transformers I became the Grand Champion. I didn't get a new high score for the weekly challenge of Cirqus Voltaire. But I'm in 20th place out of 34 participants.

I think we have adopted a fawn for a pet. Mom again dropped the fawn off about 3:00. It just laid by the fence line. I went out and barbecued a couple of beef sausage links for dinner and the fawn just laid there and watched me. It didn't seemed to bother him I was out there. While I was dancing the neighbors took their trash cans in and scared the fawn. It ran off towards the front. At 8:30 mom and baby showed back up in the backyard. They hung around a little bit grazing.

Larry worked on getting subtitles to work correctly on the new movies.

I worked on my diamond painting of the tree.

After Dave's dance we watched Mission Impossible I from our movies collection. When Larry went to bed I watched The Bourne Identity from the movies collection. I ended up doing 13,500 steps.

Tuesday 6-10-25 Dancing A2 with Di and Terry, Wildlife & More

Happy Tuesday

We had a wonderful day.

On Tuesdays we have been going to Liberty Hill to dance C1/A2 with friends. This morning we got a little rain and the weather service predicted that we would get heavy showers. The weather map showed the rain in the area on multiple sites. Henry called at 9:30 and said that Susan was cancelling out for our C1 session because she was worried about the weather. We thanked Henry and decided not to go to Liberty Hill because of the weather. It did rain during the morning and it looked like it could rain harder.

We decided to attend Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly A2 via Zoom. Today was National Best Friend Day. During the dance there were thirteen participants. The dancers came from Australia, Canada, UK and United States so our friends were from all over the world. We consider the participants as friends considering we have been dancing with them for over five years. Di called four of the tips and Terry called the other one. Larry danced with me four of the tips. Terry usually called two of the tips but one of the dancers asked for Di to walk through the move Split Transfer. So Di workshopped the move during one of Terry's tips. She walked us through the move in both the right and left position. Larry and I had a great time dancing with our friends and to Di and Terry.

Friends at the A2 dance

Larry kept busy doing little projects. He backed up the new jukebox. He worked on downloading movies and music. He also worked on a couple of pinball games.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Tri Peaks Adventure of 20 games. It took me 1 hour, 23 minutes and 55 seconds, which put me in 10th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I worked out with my Wii Fit for a half hour, Just Dance for a half hour (20 minutes with 2019 and 10 minutes with 2018) and a half hour with Synth Riders. The songs I worked out with on Just Dance 2019 were Finesse, Mad Love, New Rules, Sweet Little Unforgettable Thing, New World and No Tears Left To Cry. The songs I worked out on Just Dance 2018 were cute kids songs, which were Bubble Pop (Bubble Gum), Blue (Da Ba Dee) and Beep Beep I'm A Sheep.

I played one game of Asteroid Outpost on Bounce Arcade for an hour. During the game I mined 10 times and was successful two times. I earned an extra ball, played three multiballs and earned a silver trophy. I had a lot of fun.

While we were doing this and that in the afternoon a doe showed up with her fawn about 1:30. They were laying down in the backyard for for over an hour. I went outside to put the lid back on the bowl I use for the nectar for the hummingbirds. As soon as I did this the hummingbird showed up to have a drink. The doe and fawn got up and walked into the trees. A little before 3:00 the fawn came back by itself and laid down by the fence. It stayed there until 8:00 when mom came back for it. It was amazing how patient the fawn was waiting for mom to come back. While the fawn was laying down the hawk came by to hunt for dinner. The hummingbird continued coming back and forth until the sun went down. We love watching the wildlife come and go through the yards.

In the evening we watched Storm Boy on Amazon. It was story about a boy who raised a pelican. It was a good movie.

I started a new diamond painting, which is another tree called Tree # 055-05.

After the movie I played pinball. I played three games, which were Time Lord, Cirqus Voltaire and World Cup Soccer. While playing World Cup Soccer I played in with five balls and became Grand Champion. I didn't get a new high score in Cirqus Voltaire but I'm in 15th place out of 28 participants.

Monday 6-9-25 Wellness Appointment, Diamon Painting and Games

Rainy morning

We had a rainy morning. A front came through early in the morning. The rain kept the temperature to a high at 90 degrees.

We started the day off by going to Salado for my annual wellness check-up. On the way to my appointment we stopped by Jack 'n' Jill Donuts for breakfast.

Salado is 17 miles away from the house. We usually take I35 but today we took a two lane highway over Stillhouse Hollow Lake. This route was a lot easier and less stressful. We arrived at the Baylor Scott and White clinic a little before 8:00 and my appointment was at 8:20. Larry already checked me in so they called me back in a few minutes. I actually was only with the Dr. Smith for about fifteen minutes. He said my lab work came back excellent and everything was lower then it has been in years. My cholesterol was a bit high but not bad. He said he didn't need to see me for another year. I asked him about his family and he said he had an addition to the family six weeks ago, they had another little boy. He was excited I asked. He now has three children two boys and girl.

Wellness check-up

After my appointment we stopped in Belton to do a few errands. First stop was Dollar Tree because they carry the cookies I bake for dessert. Next we went across the street to The UPS Store to pickup the mail. We only had one piece of junk mail. Then we went to Walmart to pickup a few items we were getting low on. Final stop was at the Mobile station to fill the car with gas. Then we went home.

Doing errands

Larry finished getting our router and network back to the way it use to be.

GLiNet is coming out with a new router. They were going to open up sales for them at 9:00 pm. The moment they were added to the system Larry ordered one and was able to get the Super Early Bird price. GLiNet, is located in China but has a warehouse in the United States. The router is suppose to ship in early July.

Before doing the Daily Challenges I played 16 games of Free Cell so I could double my points when playing Solitaire all week. I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong from yesterday and today. The event was Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 6 games (3 Free Cell and 3 Pyramid). It took me 14 minutes and 57 seconds, which put me in 22nd place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I played one game of Pirate's Plunder on Bounce Arcade. I earned a silver trophy. I played a three of multiballs (safe crack, saloon and jailhouse break). I solved one event, which was cracking the safe. I tried the barrels a couple of times and shoot out a couple of times and failed. I had fun.

Larry played Big Bang Bar, JP Space Cadet and Indianapolis 500. He had a great time and entered his initials in both JP Space Cadet and Indianapolis 500.

I played four games of pinball, which were Big Bang Bar, JP Space Cadet, Indianapolis 500 and Cirqus Voltaire. While playing Big Bang Bar I became high score #3 and Indianapolis 500 I became high score #2.
