Friday 5-30-25 Jukebox & Paper Projects, Games & More

Let's do the happy dance

We had a great day.

Larry wants to give the paint on the jukebox a few days to dry before he reassembles it but since he painted the marquee piece a few days ago he was able to work on it. Larry decided to paint the jukebox orange because it's my favorite color.

After breakfast we went to town to do a few errands. On the way to Walmart we stopped by the Little Bohemian bakery to buy a couple of cinnamon rolls for dessert. Larry bought a raisin cinnamon roll and a apple cinnamon roll. Next we stopped was HEB, where we picked up a few items. Then we went across the street to The UPS Store to pick up our mail. Last stop was Walmart. Yesterday, Larry discovered Walmart had gotten the new ONN (streaming device) in. We already have one but this is an upgrade. We bought the ONN Steamer and a few items we were getting low on.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event today is a two day event, which isn't over until Sunday. The event was Event: Solitaire World Tour of 30 games. It took me 4 hours, 10 minutes and 52 seconds, which put me in 7th place so far in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I worked out on my Wii Fit for a half hour. I played a game of Asteroid Outpost in Bounce Arcade. I mined for asteroids seven different times and was successful two time. I did two multiballs. I earned a silver trophy and had a great time.

While I played games Larry did some paper crafting. Kay Kurczewski likes to decorate for the different holidays, Larry had made her some decorations for Easter and she loved them. The next holiday is the 4th of July and Larry wanted to make her some decorations. He started his project today. He made an Uncle Sam figurine.

Larry thinks that my new weekly pinball challenge will be World Cup Soccer so he downloaded and installed it on the cabinet in both VR and 2D. Then he played it and had a great time. A little later I played four games of pinball, which were Star Trek the Next Generation, World Cup Soccer, Dark Chaos and Goldeneye. I got on the board in World Cup Soccer as high score #2 because it's new, the other three I didn't get on the board but had a great time.

I started a new diamond painting, which is a tree.

In the evening we finished watching the first season Genius ( Albert Einstein). It was a really good series. After Larry went to bed I watched Battleship and Jack Reacher: Never Go Back from our movies collection. Battleship is a new movie for us and was very good. Battleship is an American military science fiction movie based on the board game Battleship. It starred Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker and Liam Neeson. I ended up doing 13,000 steps.

Thursday 5-29-25 Projects, Games & Diamond Painting

Busy Day

We kept busy doing this and that through out the day.

Larry did a few projects. First he finished painting his jukebox. Then he started working on making labels for the buttons.

Our septic uses a chlorinator to put bleach into the system. Most months we use about 1.5 gallons of bleach. All of a sudden it quit using bleach. Larry opened up the tank and found a filter in the line going from the chlorinator to the pump. The filter seemed to be plugged. He removed it, if that fixes the problem he will order a new filter..

Yesterday, Larry worked on the ceiling fan in the bedroom, it was making a lot of noise. He got it to calm down. It still makes a little noise but in our experience all ceiling fans make some noise.

Doing projects

I played the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Two Games Tango Mini of 6 games (3 Klondike and 3 Free Cell). It took me 14 minutes and 41 seconds, which put me in 25th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I worked out with my Wii Fit for a half hour and Just Dance for a half hour (20 minutes with 2016 and 10 minutes with 2018). The songs I worked out with 6 songs on 2016, which were Same Old Love, Lights, All About That Bass, Stuck On A Feeling, Cool For The Summer and Uptown Funk. I worked out with three songs on 2018, which were Footloose, Got That and Kissing Strangers. Then I worked out on Synth Riders for a half hour.

I had a lot of fun playing Bounce Arcade.

Wednesday 5-28-25 Music Project, Jukebox Project, Dancing, Games & Rain

Having fun with friends

We had a great day. It started out with the temperature of 74 degrees and ended up with the high of 82 at noon. It was overcast most of the day. The rain came in later afternoon and hung around for a couple of hours. It rained hard.

Rainy afternoon

Larry started the day out finishing up working on the music project for the jukebox. He went though 900 rock and roll songs from the 50's and 60's, he ended up keeping a bit over 600 of them. Now the jukebox that sits in the living room has a lot more songs on it. We use this jukebox most every day. Of course the jukebox also has 50's & 60's country music, all our CD's and can stream internet radio. Lot of choices. Thank you, honey.

Larry continued working on preparing the Rowe jukebox for painting.

I attended two virtual square dances. First was Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly Plus at 10:00 for an hour. DI and Terry took turns calling the five tips to 10 participants. Today we had fun while dancing each tip: 1) When ever we got home or Di calls wave we would wave, 2) The song had smile in it so when ever it said smile we would smile and Di had a smiling face on a balloon, 3) The song had thinking in it so we posed as the thinker, 4) The song was called Wild About so when we got home we went wild and 5) Shillelagh On Your Side, where  some of the dancers danced with their shillelagh including Di. I had a great time dancing with friends.

Second was Dave Eno's Weekly C1/A2 at 6:00 for an hour and a half. Dave Hutchinson showed up because his club wasn't meeting for awhile. He joined Karin Rabe, Greg Moore and Dave Eno in calling the dance. The format was three tips of C1, three tips of A2 and two trivia questions. Karin and Greg called the first tip in each session, the two Daves called the second tip together in each session and all four callers called the third tip together in each session. During both sessions we had 11 participants. I had another fun evening dancing with friends.

While I danced Larry worked on his projects.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Medium Mayhem of 27 games. It took me 1 hour, 27 minutes and 42 seconds, which put me in 15th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I worked out with my Wii Fit for a half hour.

I played seven games of pinball. They were Big Bang Bar, Indianapolis 500, JP Space Cadet, The Lord of the Rings, Dead Pool, The Big Lebowski and Star Trek the Next Generation. While playing JP Space Cadet I came in as high score #4 and the Big Lebowski I came in as high score #1.

Tuesday 5-27-25 Dancing with John, Jukebox & Games

Dancing with Friends

We had a fantastic day. The high was 81 degrees.

Larry started the day out working on his jukebox. He didn't work on it long because we left the house at 10:00 am to go dancing in Liberty Hill.

On the way to Liberty Hill we stopped at Walmart. Larry needed some primer and more paint for his jukebox project. Then we continued our journey to Liberty Hill, which is 60 miles from the house. When we got to Liberty Hill we stopped and ate lunch.

The dance was at the Ski's house. We danced C1 to tapes with Susan and Henry at noon. We started dancing to Don Moger but he was very hard so we switched to Ross Howell. He was better but ended the hour out dancing to Johnny Preston. We had a super hour dancing with Susan and Henry.

At 1:00 the A2 group showed up for the two hour dance. John Kephart wanted his students from the class to join the group to dance A1 for a month to get some practice. We had enough people for two squares plus four people sitting out. The dance format was one tip with A1 moves only and one tip with A2 moves. John handed out two different cards (white and blue), which tells the dancers what square to to be in. The blue card was for A1 only tips. In between the tips John plays music, on one of the breaks John sang a song called Return to Me. He did an outstanding job of singing. We had a great time dancing with friends.

We love dancing

We were back home by 4:15. We watched YouTube videos and had dinner.

After dinner I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 6 games (3 Spider and 3 Free Cell). It took me 16 minutes and 36 seconds, which put me in 15th place on my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

I played three games of pinball, which were Star Trek the Next Generation, Star Wars and Star Wars Trilogy. While playing Star Wars I came in high score #3 and Star Wars Trilogy I came in high score #4. I had fun.

Monday 5-26-25 Jukebox Project, Games & Rain

Happy Monday

We had a great Monday with a high of 81 degrees. In the evening around 8:00 the rain came in with wind. It rained hard. The National Weather Service notified us that there was a severe weather watch. The rain stayed around until midnight.

Larry started the day out by working on the jukebox. Today he worked on preparing it for painting. He made a piece to cover up a opening that was originally used for the selector wheel. He glued the piece in place and then used bondo to fill in the voids. He spent most of the day prepping the jukebox to get painted.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Tri Peaks Adventure of 20 games. It took me 1 hour, 10 minutes and 16 seconds, which put me in 14th place in my group. Then I played Angry Birds.

In the afternoon I worked out with Synth Riders for 45 minutes using five songs from the Special Music List. They were Flight of the Bumblebee, Got You, Hex, Carol of the Bells and Shangri-La-La-La. The Flight of the Bumblebee was a new song. It was 2:01 minutes long and very hard because you can't choose how fast to go. I did this song four different times. Got You is another new song and I did the song twice, it was 3:41 minutes. Hex, Carol of the Bells and Shangri-La-La-La I did twice. Hex was for 3:41 minutes, Carol of the Bells was for 1:56 and Shangri-La-La-La was for 2:34 minutes. I had a fun time.

I played Arcade Bounce for a half hour. I played Gunpowder Gulch once and earned a silver trophy. I was successful in completing two events, which were the Gun Fight and Cracked the Safe. I tried the barrel event twice and was unsuccessful. I did two multiballs, which were cracked the safe and jail breakout. I played Monster Manor twice and earned a bronze metal both times. The second game was the best game. I tried to stun the manor twice and failed and I completed the banister. I had fun.

First season is about Albert Einstein with 10 episodes. Second season is about Pablo Picasso. Third season is about Aretha Franklin. Fourth season is about Martin Luther Jr. and Malcolm X. After Larry went to bed I watched the last episode of the eleventh season of The Brokenwood Mysteries on Acorn. Then I watched Harvey starring James Stewart (1950). Sunday 5-25-25 Visiting Louise, Dancing, New Challenge & More

Happy Sunday

We spent the day doing this and that.

Larry started the day by working on his jukebox project.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Easy Street Mini of 5 games. It took me 10 minutes and 26 seconds, which put me in 17th place in my group of 50 participants. Then I played Angry Birds.

Today starts a new week for my pinball challenge, which is Star Trek The Next Generation. I played last week challenge of Elvira Scared Stiff a few times and wasn't successful in getting a new high score. I came in 50th place at of 81 participants. The new challenge started at 2:00 but I didn't play it until we got home from our dance. We already had the game so Larry changed the number of balls from 5 to 3 balls. He also changed Elvira Scared Stiff back from 3 balls to 5 balls. My first high score in Star Trek The Next Generation was 667,351,860, which put me in 2nd place out of 10 participants.

I also played three other pinball games, which were Indianapolis 500, Mustang and No Fear. I didn't get on the board but I had a great time.

At 2:00 we went to Round Rock to visit Louise and Alice. We hadn't visited her in awhile and Larry wanted to get her home phone back working. She was very happy about getting her phone working again. While there Larry changed her light bulb at her front door. He also looked at her Alexa device in her bedroom. I worked on her jigsaw puzzle and played with Alice. We got there at 3:00 and left at 5:00 because we had a dance to attend in Georgetown at 6:00. We have a very nice visit.

On the way to the dance we stopped by Taco Bell for dinner. The Sundancers have a Sunday Plus dance for an hour and forty-five minutes. Gary did a super job of working on moves the dancers were having problems with. We had enough people for two squares and four people sitting out. We had a lot of snacks to munch on during the dance. I had a great time dancing with friends and to Gary.

 We love square dancing

We were back at the house by 8:30. Larry setup my weekly challenge on the pinball cabinet for me to play and get my first high score. We watched YouTube videos. When Larry went to bed I watched The Lord of the Ring: The Two Towers. This was one of the movies Larry had worked on and I wanted to make sure it worked correctly. I ended up doing 13,000 steps.
