Sunday 12-7-25 New Weekly Challenge, Jigsaw Puzzle & More

 

Smile and Have Fun

 

The day started out with sunshine and the temperature was 46 degrees. In the afternoon the clouds rolled in and the wind came up. The high temperature was 54 degrees. 

Larry was cloning the drive of his Home Assistant machine and it crashed. He then had to spend a good part of the morning fixing it. He was very happy he had backed up the program and all of its data, He had to reload Home Assistant and then recover the backup, all of his customization's came back. 

I did the Daily Challenge of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Experts Only of 10 games. It took me 3 hours, 41 minutes and 43 seconds, which put me in 11th place in my group. I played Angry Birds 2 and Angry Birds Friends. 

Today was the beginning of a new week so I got a new weekly pinball challenge, which is Phantom of the Opera. Larry downloaded the game and installed it on the big cabinet. It took Larry a long time to get it work correctly. The biggest problem he had was the sound. Once he got the kinks out of the game he he played the game in both 2D and VR. It worked great.

I played last week's challenge of Blizzard of Ozz for a half hour to try to get a new high score before the challenge ended. I wasn't successful. I ended up with the high score of 28,820,019, which put me in 53rd place out of 74 participants. I played Phantom of the Opera and got my first high score of 6,6,706,760. Once our scores are approved I will be 4th out of 13 participants. It's a good beginning for the week.

I played six other pinball games, which were Big Bang Bar, Big Buck Hunter Pro, Indianapolis 500, Junk Yard, No Fear and The Big LeBowski. I became high score #3 while playing Big Buck Hunter Pro and high score #1 while playing Junk Yard. I had a good time playing pinball.

I finished assembling my jigsaw puzzle. I started assembling it 10/30 and finished 12/7, took me a little over 5 weeks. I worked on it in between doing other stuff. When I finished I was missing two pieces, they will probably show up. It was a brand new puzzle and I just opened the box. The puzzle was 2,000 pieces, made by Kodacolor Puzzle. It was challenging because some of the colors were close to the same color as others. I had a great time doing the puzzle.

We got our Christmas cards ready to be mailed out. We wrote our annual Christmas letter to let people know what we did this year. 

 

In the evening we watched a movie on Kanopy called Frida. It was a documentary movie about Frida Kahlo, who was a Mexican surreal artist. It was a good movie about Frida's life after she got in traumatic accident at the age of 18, which left her a cripple. After Larry went to bed I watched Quantum of Solace and Ice Age from our collection of movies. Quantum of Solace is another James Bond movie. I had a fun day.
