Wernesday 11-26-25 Thanksgiving Preparation, Three Dances & More

Have a happy Wednesday

We had a gorgeous day with a lot of sunshine. We woke up to a cool 46 degrees and a high of 61 degrees.

Larry spent the day working with Home Assistant. He has gotten quite a few things working such as opening and closing the blinds, turning on and off the television, controlling the sprinkler system, and of course most of our lights, ceiling fans and plugs. A few of our devices are not compatible with Home Assistant. He continues learning more and more about it via experimentation and YouTube. He is having a good time.

I attended three virtual square dances. First was Di Green and Terry McCann's Weekly Plus at 10:00 for an hour. Di called all five tips and Terry danced with her. We had 10 participants. Di worked on moves people were having problems by calling them and cueing more. I like this because I sometimes loose my phantoms. I had a great time dancing with friends from U.S., U.K. and Canada.

Second was Ett McAtee's Weekly C1 at 1:00 for an hour. This was a big surprise because she had said it was cancelled but Loren Smith from Canada became available to call it. Loren called five tips to 8 participants. Larry danced with me the whole dance. Loren worked on Relay the Top because the dancers were having problems. Larry and I had a super time dancing to Loren and with friends from Canada, Australia and U.S.

Third was Dave Eno's Weekly C1/A2 at 6:00 for an hour and a half. Karin Rabe and Greg Moore helped Dave call the dance. The format was three tips of C1 to 9 participants, three tips of A2 to 11 participants and two Trivia question in between the A2 tips. I had a great evening dancing with friends and to Dave, Karin and Greg.

Get a partner and dance

During my morning dance Larry treated for ants.

In between dancing I kept busy doing this and that. I did some Thanksgiving preparation. I did some housework, made homemade noodles and deviled eggs.

A new interesting looking pinball table came out, Blizzard of Ozz, it is based on Ozzy Osbourne. Larry downloaded it on the table and got it working in both 2D and VR. It took him a bit, some tables come with pup packs, they are normally music videos or clips from movies that play while you are playing the game. Larry doesn't care for them and normally doesn't install them unless they are required. This game has a pup pack but you are not suppose to need it. Larry could not get the game to work, he tried a number of things and then discovered others had the same problem and had to install the pup pack, sure enough, it works fine with the pup pack. It has a gorgeous VR room and the playfield has a lot of activity going on. After Larry installed the game he played the game. Below are pictures of the VR room.

I played eight games of pinball, which were Dracula, Magic Pinball, Time Lord, Slimer! Ghostbusters, Junk Yard, Lord of the Rings, Blizzard of Ozz and Big Bang Bar. I didn't get on the board on the games except for Blizzard of Ozz, where I came in high score #2. I had a fun time playing pinball.

I did the Daily Challenges of Solitaire and Mahjong. The event was Event: Two Game Tango Mini of 10 games (5 Klondike and 5 Pyramid). It took me 37 minutes and 24 seconds, which put me in 14th place in my group. I played Angry Birds and Friends and Angry Birds.

I also worked a little bit on my jigsaw puzzle.

After Dave's dance we watched Arrival. It is a 2016 science fiction movie about giant alien ships that land on earth. A linguist Louise Banks (Amy Adams) leads a team of investigators in finding a way to communicate with the ship to prevent a global war. It also stars Jeremy Renner and Forest Whitaker. I watched the De Vinci Code after Larry went to bed. Both movies were from our collection of movies. I ended up doing 2,000 steps.
