Sunday 1-13 Helen Russell & Company Show

Live Entertainment

Last night when we went to bed it was a bit warm so we left the fan running. When Larry got up not only was the fan running but it had cooled down so much that our small heater was running, too funny.

Today there was a breeze out of the north and it didn't get out of the 60s

We started the day out by going to town to the Dollar Tree to pick up some rice rolls. We had to go to three different locations to find them. It wasn't important but we like snacking on them.

We spent most of the day reading. When it was time for dinner I barbecued more pork steaks.

During the winter season in the Valley the RV Parks have a variety of entertainment to keep people busy. The parks also invite different entertainers to perform. Every week the Welcome Home Winter Texan newspaper gives people information on what's happening at the parks. There's a calendar in the paper that lets you know the day, time, location, entertainment and cost. Many of these entertainers are from places like Branson, Missouri, in the winter they come down and play in The Valley. These shows are really inexpensive (normally $7), I guess since the entertainer does not have to pay to rent a hall, advertise or travel they are able to charge less. Over the past few years we have been to a number of shows and all of them have been good. Tonight we went to see Helen Russell & Company at Citrus Valley RV Park. Helen Russell plays the keyboard and banjo with her husband Elvis on the electric guitar. They sing Country, Rock 'n' Roll and Gospel songs. It was a variety show. They get the audience to participate and Helen changes into different wigs when performing different songs. Patrica and I participated when Helen sang Mama Don't Allow No Music. I had fun with Patrica. The show was good.
