Monday 12-31 New Years Eve

Happy New Year

There was no wind and it was suppose to get to 70, nope, only got to 60.

We decided to go for a ride. The other day Larry had found a few things to see. In Edinburg we drove by the city park. It has a lot of baseball fields, soccer fields and a big stadium. The stadium is the home of the Rio Grande FC Toros, an American professional soccer team. There is a walking trail that goes around the park with some wellness stations. It's a beautiful park.

The Edinburg Scenic Wetlands are located inside the park. It is a 40-acre area set aside to view birds in their natural habitat. It's open year round. The facility has two ponds where we saw ducks, pelicans, Snowy Egrets and other water fowl. On one of the ponds there was a dam where water flowed over that attracted the pelicans. The center had classrooms and displays with signs and pictures of the different birds you can see on the grounds. There are short paths throughout the facility that takes you to different areas to see the birds. It's very nice except that it smells because they use water from a treatment facility to feed the wetlands.

After walking around The Edinburg Scenic Wetlands we drove around some more. We like to go on walks and Larry wanted to see what was available.

This afternoon I did some walking laps around J5 to get a bit of exercise. There were lots of fireworks going off all evening, things quieted down after midnight.
