Sunday 1-7 Movie Night at J-5

A windy day

It was a beautiful day, just a bit windy, partly sunny and in the upper 70's.

There is no dancing on Sunday. Last week during all the nasty weather the car got filthy so we decided to give it a bath. We normally use Fast Break car wash but they built a new car wash called Blue Wave just a bit down the road and we decided to give it a try. Since we got there before 9:00 on a Sunday there was hardly anyone there. It did an ok job but not as good as Fast Break.

Getting the car washed

After getting the car washed we went to Mercadome Flea Market. We walked around the flea market for over an hour. Mercadome is so big that we didn't walk through all of it. We didn't find anything we wanted. We got there a little after 9 and it wasn't too busy but by 10 it was getting busy. There were so many people that at some vendors you were shoulder to shoulder. Larry parked by a tower so he could remember where we were parked. We were glad considering there was a lot more cars in the parking lot.

Visiting Mercadome Flea Market

By the time we got back to our side of town it was lunchtime so we stopped by Taco Rico. We shared their Ponchos with pork on it. Ponchos are the same as nachos. The Ponchos were big and we couldn't eat the whole thing. It was very good.

On Sundays, the McAllen Public Library doesn't open until 1:00 so we had a couple hours to relax, Larry read and I did my daily computer game challenges. When the library opened we drove over and caught up on the YouTube videos we follow.

On the way home we stopped by the 99 cent only store. We have never been in one so we thought we would check it out. We were a little surprised that some of the items were over .99 cents since the sign said .99 cents only. I think I will stick to the Dollar Tree considering everything in the store is $1.00.

In the evening the J-5 RV Park had movie night at 7:00. An hour before the movie they started serving snacks where a hot dog was a $1.00 and chips were 50 cents, $1.00 for a bag of popcorn. If you wanted an ice cream or soda you paid $1.00 a piece to the park, works on a honor system. The movie cost either $1.00 or $.50 with a canned good. There were about 40 people who attended the movie. We watched Megan Leavey. It was based on a true story of a young Marine corporal and her bond with her military combat dog. It was an ok movie.
