6-11 Nothing on our Agenda

Doing a little housework
We didn't have anything on our agenda so we had a relaxing day. When Larry and I were doing yard work yesterday we noticed the grass needed to be watered. This morning before it got hot he went outside to play with the sprinklers. He put out some bowls to measure the amount of water going on the grass, then he ran the sprinklers for 30 minutes. When he replaced the front yard sprinkler heads he knew they would put out less water than the old ones. He found out that the front yard watered evenly and each side got about a 1/4 inch of water, he had read that the lawn should get about 1 inch per week, so if you water twice a week then you should be applying about a 1/2 inch of water. A few weeks ago he installed a Rachio automatic sprinkler controller that he got from The Home Depot Seeds Program and it is really easy to reprogram. One of the neat things about the Rachio controller is it works wireless through a tablet or smart phone so you can reprogram it from anywhere. After Larry finished working on the sprinklers I went back to bed for a couple of hours, I was tired. When I woke up Larry took me to lunch. It was starting to get hot so we left Flo at home. On the way to lunch we stopped by The UPS Store to pick up a package that was there and to check our mail. We hadn't eaten fried chicken in a very long time so Larry decided to take me to Golden Chick for lunch. The chicken was good and the service was fast. In all honesty we seldom eat anything deep fried, if we have a hamburger at a restaurant we will split an order of fries or onion rings. On the way home we stopped by Harbor Freight to look at a tool to remove plastic covers from vehicles. We hadn't been to Harbor Freight for awhile so we took our time walking through the store. Larry looked at the tool and decided he would check it out on the internet. But we didn't leave empty handed, we bought some zip ties.

In the afternoon I vacuumed the house and we watched videos on YouTube on RV's. For dinner I made Larry and I a salad. Larry was one happy man. He likes salads and I don't make salads that often, I prefer frozen pizzas, hamburgers or anything but salads. Many times I buy a head of lettuce thinking I will make a salad and I end up throwing it away. Larry teases me that it would be easier if I would buy the lettuce and then throw it away as we are leaving the store.
Watching Television
We stayed at home this evening and watched television. We watched a few videos on YouTube on people who converted buses to RV's. The videos were great, they showed how they converted them and what is was like living in them. We streamed an episode of American Masters, Joffrey: Mavericks of Modern Dance. This documentary was about the Joffrey Ballet, which was founded by Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino. It was on how the Joffrey Ballet changed in the years. It was the first ballet that combined modern dance with ballet. It was a great documentary. The PBS station on the ROKU added a new series called Indies, it has small clips of different subjects. The other day we watched some clips on Alaska and liked them so tonight we watched a couple of clips on the Flood of 64, it is about a flood that happened on the Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana. One clip was about a gentleman who the reservation gave a temporary home after the flood in 1964, they were suppose to give him a permanent home but he lived in the temporary home until he died in 2014. The other clip was about a gentleman that built his own home after the flood and lived in it until he died. Both clips were very informative about two gentlemen who survived the flood of 64. Then we watched Endeavor. Afterwards I worked on my puzzle until I went to bed. We had a very relaxing evening.
