4-14 Hiking and Site Seeing in Kings Canyon

Larry hiking

Larry and I hiked for three hours, a bit over 6 miles. We started from the campground. The trails took us up and down the mountain and we saw a lot of amazing Sequoias and other pines trees. We hiked the North Grove Loop and the Dead Giant Loop. As we hiked we stopped occasionally to take in the beauty of the forest and to rest. When we finally got to the top of the mountain the view was incredible and we saw a small mountain lake called Sequoia Lake. Our hike was very peaceful. On the way back to the campground we walked the General Grant Tree Trail, it is about half a mile with many magnificent Sequoias. They are hard to describe because they are so big and beautiful. Along the trail there are signs of interests.

In the afternoon Larry took Flo and me for a ride. We drove the road that takes you into the canyon until it closed, which was fifteen miles. As we drove we saw breath taking views of the canyon. It had been cold all day so for dinner I made enchiladas from left over pork ribs. They came out great.
