2-11 Discontinued Items - What Happened to My Floss?

I know all of us have had items that we really like suddenly disappear from our favorite store, at first you think they are simply out of stock and it will be back next week, next week rolls around and you search the shelf over and over before you finally convince yourself it is not there. Now you think well I will simply get it at my next favorite store, you swing by and they don't have it either, now you are not one who gives up easily so you probably search at least one more store before you admit to yourself the item is discontinued.

A couple of decades ago our dental office introduced us to Johnson & Johnson Reach Woven Floss, I love this floss, seems to work better than regular waxed floss and you can hang on to it, that waxed stuff just keeps slipping through my fingers, hate the stuff. You guessed it, opened our last package of floss so the next time we are at the store we go to pick up a new supply and it is nowhere to be found, searched two other stores, nope, nada, missing, gone, now the feeling of dread starts. This did happen once before years ago with this particular floss and Larry found it on Drugstore.com, ordered a dozen packages and by the time we got through them it showed up again in the stores. Home we go, log on to Drugstore.com and more disappointment, OK, how about Amazon, searched for it on Amazon and there it is but the price is astronomical, Larry reads the reviews and fortunately some kind sole who was also desperate to find their favorite floss broke down and called Johnson & Johnson, good news, they still make it but re-branded it Listerine. Thankfully they took the time to write a review and Larry was lucky enough to find the review.

I am so excited, ran down to the store and there it was, grabbed a couple and sure enough it is the exact same stuff. Happy ending.

Wish all of our quests for discontinued products were successful but alas this is seldom the case. Happy searching!!!
